I’ve just replaced my old theme with the new Blanco theme. I used to be able on my previous theme to set a shortcode on the home page to display a product category called for instance “Featured”. I’ve realized that with Blanco I can not do this. The products displayed are the ones that are star-flagged, which is not convenient at all, because I can not even do a search on the admin by the star-flagged ones.
I would like to specify the category I want the display on that “featured” carousel. How can I do that? If is not currently possible, can you point me which files should I need to code for it?

    Hello,

Sorry, but featured products slider works only for Woocommerce plugin and not for WP-eCommerce.
Here you can check what shortcodes you can use: https://www.8theme.com/demo/docs/blanco/index.html#!/blanco_shortcodes

Well, your wp-ecommerce demo on themeforest shows a “feature product” carousel on the home page, unless you are displaying some other type of products under that ‘featued’ title.
Anyways, which file could I modify to make the “bestsellers” or the “new” carousels to accept a category?
    thanks

Ok, I’ve just realized about something. Look, from the ThemeForest website I got to this link: https://www.8theme.com/demo/blanco-wp/choose/index.html, when you click on the ‘GetShopped’ demo version, it opens a demo with another theme called Legenda, which at the beginning for me was the same as Blanco since they look pretty similar. That Legenda theme do have a ‘featured products’ carousel on the home page and that is one of the reasons I have purchased it. So it seams to me that there is an error on ThemeForest displaying the wrong theme demo for Blanco. Please help with this. I need either try to make a little change to the Blanco theme to support featured category, or if the Legenda theme works like that out of the box, do me an exchange of the purchased theme. I hope you can understand that I purchased something based on a demo that it seems to have the link pointing to another one.
    Thanks

    Hello,

I’ve been redirected to the correct demo page: http://i.imgur.com/Spr7v8K.png
If you want to edit the code for your purposes (and have necessary skills) you can do this in the file wp-content/themes/blanco/code/shortcodes.php (from the line 2).
We recommend you to make changes in a child theme to avoid losing modifications after theme update.

    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.

The link redirects you to the wrong demo (Legenda) when using Safari (on Mac). Try it yourself if you have a Mac. If I use Chrome, it does redirect you correctly to the Blanco demo.

    Hello dcastroviejo,

I’ve just checked and link works fine on Mac.
