there was a plugin: Change backend language , which was causing the error. i deactivated it and the website is running fine again.

PS: i dont remember installing this plugin… did it, by any chance, come with the theme?

    thanks anyway

    Hello,

Disable the plugin mentioned in the error message via FTP and then check the site. Also contact your hosting provider support and ask them to scan your site files with antivirus software or try to restore the site from backup if you have it.
After that check if WordPress, the theme and all plugins you are using are up to date.

    Best regards,
    Jack Richardson.
