    Hi there,

We have a big issue with the corrupted Brand Pages Layout after the recent upgrade of the theme/core plugin. All Brand Pages are either getting 500 error or displayed in mobile view (on desktop) and NOT showing any products – see the screenshot https://staging-funfashion.kinsta.cloud/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Brand-Page-Layout-Issue-after-theme-upgrade.png

Link to one of brand page https://staging-funfashion.kinsta.cloud/brand/volt-design-brand/

Please Help! This is very Urgent.

    Thank you,

    Hello,

Provide us with WP Dashboard and FTP access to your site, please. We’ll check the issue in more detail.

    Hello,

Issue is related to PHP Memory issue, not to theme error. Check the Private content area. So, contact your hosting provider to increase the limit.

Thank you, Olga. It is quite strange as we get this issue ONLY on Brands Pages, and no other category/product pages….

Did you make ANY changes at all? It looks like now it is working…. Please confirm if you have made ANY changes, as we would need to apply them to the production site.

    Thank you

    Hello,

    I added define( 'WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '512M' ); to your wp-config and it helped.

    Thank you, Olga.

Was there any Memory Limit configuration in wp-config before you updated it? Have you increased it? Or there was no limit defined at all? We just need to know the exact change that was done.

    Much appreciated.

Can you also let me know HOW exactly you changed it the wp-config file (step by step), as I’m not able to change it, I get 502 error right away. Much appreciated.

    Hello,

You can edit that using FTP access or File Manager plugin (be very careful with the last one because you may cause a fatal error if you are not sure what exactly to edit). I used File manager because you missed to add SFTP user to allow me to use FTP connection. So, I opened file, changed the mentioned code and saved it. That’s all. If you are not sure in your actions then it would better to ask hosting support to avoid problems.

Thank you, Olga. I will look into this. Much appreciated.

Please note though, that the PROBLEM with ALL BRAND PAGES specifically Occurred after the latest theme update (I have ran test: 1) prior to upgrade – works fine: 2) after theme/core plugin update ONLY (nothing else changed) – does not work – ALL BRAND pages corrupt. There should NOT be any memory issue, as this is a TEST Site, there is NO ONE on it except 1 user, and Why the memory issue is ONLY on those specific pages? There is definitely something WRONG with the latest update. And I appreciate if you can still look into what is causing the issue, as the root cause of it may develop the other issues.
I have also spoke to our host provider and it is impossible to increase the memory limit. We already have 256MG and it should be fine.

Hope you can dig into this issue.

    Thank you so much!

    Hello,

But brand page works ok now. You may ask your hosting provider about any detailed report of what exactly uses the memory. We don’t have such reports from theme side.

    Hi Olga,

I have done more intensive testing and it proves that the issues is on the theme side. I have deactivated ALL Plugins and the issue still persists. Yet, as soon as I switch to the basic theme, everything works as a charm – https://staging-funfashion.kinsta.cloud/brand/elisa-cavaletti/
The issue is NOT ONLY on the BRANDS pages, but on ALL SHOP Pages, except the category pages.
Please look into this in more depth and let me know if anything needs from our end to resolve, this is VERY CRITICAL, we can not upgrade the production until this is fixed.
I have left the default theme activated on the staging site, but you can switch back and worth if needed.

    Thank you!

    Hello,

We found that issue is caused by the brand widget. You have a lot of products (4000+) and enabled Hide out of stock products from the catalog and looks that it causes an issue because filtering uses a lot of memory. Our developers are looking for a way to improve that. We need some time to find the solution.

Thank you for the update, Olga.

Just want to mention once again that the issue is NOT ONLY on BRANDS pages, but on ALL SHOP pages, unless it is Product Category Pages. Hope this info is useful for the developers when they are looking into the solution.

Looking forward to hearing from you regarding the fix soon.

    Thank you!

I also noticed that you have made it work somehow. Could you please let us know WHAT exact CHANGES have you applied? So, if needed, we have the temporary solution, as we are waiting for the fix.

    Thank you again

    Hi Olga,

On the existing staging environment (the one you made some modification to, with all plugins deactivated, where you already MADE the BRANDS pages work somehow PRIOR to the upgrade/fix), all shop pages on the upgraded theme are NOT working https://staging-funfashion.kinsta.cloud/shop/
I can also rebuild the staging site AS IS without YOUR modification, to see the BRANDS pages would work at all. Let me know.
In any case, the issue is NOT resolved. As I mentioned previously it is NOT only on BRANDS pages but also ALL shop pages (with EXCEPTION of PRODUCT CATEGORIES pages, which are working fine).
Please investigate, let me know if you need me to rebuild the staging site to specific version.

    Thank you!

    Hi Olga,

Not sure what you did, but it looks like it is working now! So far so good.

Could you please let me know the EXACT FIX / SOLUTION Modifications you have done? So, we can rebuild the staging with all plugins activated and apply YOUR Changes and test more in-depth before moving it to the production.

    Thank you so much!
