Updating of new version with child theme

We had custom changes without child theme using and at the moment we cannot update without loosing our custom changes. Please help us to get last version without loosing our custom changes.

Hello,

Have you updated the production site? Because styles were changed compared to what it was before.
1) Check the staging site now. You can manage menu alignment using builder options of the menu element http://prntscr.com/s80q6t
2) Checked the production and staging sites and don’t see the difference between chat position.
3) Done.

10) Done

Check the staging site now. If everything is ok we’ll move our changes to the production website.

2- There is no difference right now before was difference but its okey. Great. We will move it up a bit.

Hello,

1 – Missed that. Check now.
2 – We have replaced your png image by svg icon http://prntscr.com/s8vwly because it caused that issue. If you want any other icon then edit the header and the Account element and paste your SVG code.

Hello,

Go to Pages > edit your home page > edit slider element settings and reduce the slider height for the mobile devices according to your needs http://prntscr.com/s8w9to or use Revolution slider to get advanced control over the mobile settings for the slider layout (Appearance > Install plugins > Revolution slider)

Hello,
After our tests all works great.
For the future when we want to add custom codes what we must do in order to not loose our changes by new theme updates ? As selected theme is xstore child theme we will add changes to https://prnt.sc/sc7u8n child theme https://prnt.sc/sc7vil or to parent theme or to both of them. Can you please tell us flow that we must follow from now on ?

Hello,

Don’t do any changes in parent theme files. First of all check theme options if you want to change something, if you did not find option to change then use child theme.
Before changes study how to use child theme https://developer.wordpress.org/themes/advanced-topics/child-themes/

1 – Child theme must be selected as main template right ?
2 – All custom changes will put inside of child theme files ?
