    Good day 8Theme support,

    I have downloaded version 2.0 Royal from Theme forest and updated via FTP.

    Since doing so the layout of the site has been significantly corrupted.

    I have changed from child theme to parent theme and the same issues are present in both.

    Credentials have been supplied in private content for you.

    Can you please assist.

    Kind regards.

    Where am I able to provide attachments to these tickets to be able to show you.
    How about you just look at the live site to see how it should look

    We are working in a dev environment where we want to get right before replacing the live site – so if you do any work please only do so in the development site.

    FTP credentials and link to the live site are in the private content.

    Hello,

    You have the code <?php echo etheme_get_option('header_custom_block'); ?> in the file httpdocs/lows0t1a0g1e0/wp-content/themes/royal/headers/header-structure-2.php in line 30 which adds header custom block content to your header. Delete it and remove this code from custom.css file in your parent theme:
    .header-type-10 .header .tbs span:before,.header-type-12 .header .tbs span:before,.header-type-6 .header .tbs span:before,.header-type-7 .header .tbs span:before,.header-type-8 .header .tbs span:before{top:12px;height:37px;background:url(https://www.loveourwork.com.au/wp-content/themes/royal-child/images/sprite/icons.png) -170px -96px no-repeat #fff}

    And add this code in child style.css:

    .fixed-header-area .fixed-header > .container {
        display: table-cell;
    }

    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.

    Hi Eva,

    Thanks for this informaiton. However I have implemented most of the changes – yet there is no change of significance.

    I think you need to understand that there are bigger problems than this.

    There is also major front-end issues in the wordpress admin panel also. So the front end and the admin panel is completely compromised.

    I will need you to work closely with me through this as there seems to be quite a few problems that need working through.

    I have put all the image screen shots of the front end and the admin panel on drop box – which email address do I use to share the folder?

    Regards.

    Your site display the design that you modified in custom.css and child theme. Please take our apologies, but this is beyond our basic support to investigate clients changes in child theme. We can’t know what exactly you customized. If you enable parent theme you’ll see header section is shown fine. So you need check your own modifications.

    Thank you for understanding.

    Eva Kemp.

    I am about to update the new royal them but want to make sure I am doing things safely prior to doing it. I watched tutorial video but don’t see the process of dealing with custom css

    I have made many changes to the .css so do I remove that file BEFORE updating the theme and then put that file back AFTER the theme is updated?

    Hello @shivas-irons,

    Custom.css file won’t be removed after theme update. But we always recommend to create backup of the files and database before each update.

    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.

    so there’s nothing special I need to be aware of or do before upgrading? I know I just drag the Royal theme folder in via FTP and overwrite everything but just want to make sure there’s nothing else I need to know 🙂

    Ok, I updated a couple sites I’m using the theme with and all went well with one site and only one issue with the 2nd one. There’s a white space below the navigation that appeared after update. How do I get rid of that? know it’s a css rule but need it tweaked.
