    Hello,

Last week I tried uploading the new template and ran into a hoarde of errors that forced me to do a full restore off of a backup file.

I am trying desperately to make a copy of my website work in a subdirectory so I can make sure there aren’t any problems with the new template before I try uploading it again. Can anyone help me with this? What am I missing?

    1. Copied all files to the subfolder
    2. Made a copy of the database, gave admin user all rights
    3. Ran a query in the database to add the subfolder to all root URL’s
    4. Edited the new wp-config.php to use the new database

All this and I just get a blank page, though I am able to access the wp-admin just fine. This has happened twice now. I also went ahead and disabled each plugin to ensure that isn’t the problem either. Do you have any other ideas?

    Thanks for your help.
    Mike

    Hello,

Please check if you write the link correctly in database.
There is an error at http://www.thehitsyndicate.com/update/index.php
    Warning: require(/home/thehit6/public_html/update/update/wp-blog-header.php)

Please pay attention there are 2 folders “update” specified in the link, but you don’t have the second “update” folder.

    Thank you.
    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.

Thanks, that was a change I had made after the blank white page was a problem (a suggestion I read in another forum). But now I see that the line of code starts off with a / – hence the update/update you see on the front end. I’ve undone this change now, and the blank page is still a problem. 🙁

    Hello,

    Please check the site now.
By default index.html file was loaded, so I’ve written DirectoryIndex index.php in .htaccess file to make index.php default loading file. Now the site is working, but you need activate the required plugins.

    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.
