    Hi..

Until now, on other projects where I used Xstore and Loco Translate, I was able to translate using Loco Translate without any problems. In the new version of Xstore, some strings in Loco Translate (whether I’m translating the theme or the xstore-core plugin) don’t work. I do the translation in Loco Translate and save the changes, synchronize, but the translation on the frontend is still in English. I found that you have also built in a new feature where you can set the template language directly in Theme Options, but for some reason, Slovak is not in the list even though Slovak is in the list on the translation page (https://www.8theme.com/glotpress/projects/xstore/xstore/). Why is that? Also, why can I translate some strings in Loco Translate and they appear correctly on the frontend, but when I translate others, they are still in English on the frontend?

I found a problem… After installing the template, the built-in translations were enabled in Theme Options Xstore. English was selected there. I noticed that the built-in translations can be completely disabled, and when I disabled them completely, my translations in Loco Translate started working correctly.

    Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. The behavior you described is expected, as the built-in translations in Theme Options > XStore can override custom translations made with Loco Translate. When the built-in translations are enabled and set to English, they may conflict with or take precedence over your custom translations.

Disabling the built-in translations is indeed the correct approach if you wish to use your own translations created with Loco Translate. This allows your custom language files to function properly without interference from the default theme translations.

We’re glad to hear that your translations are now working correctly after making this adjustment. If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

    Best Regards,
    8Theme’s Team
