Hello, I’m facing problems with translations on our website. Even when uploading the .po file which is 99% complete the translations on some parts are just not showing. For example several placeholders, buttons and cart page are showing English language. Even when they are correctly translated in de .po file. I’ve spend a lot of time trying to find the problem and reading information on your site and forum but I just cannot find the solution. So I’m in need of some support. My website is not yet live so please inform me how you are able to help me.

See attachments for some examples “You may be interested in…”, “Shopping cart”, “Proceed to checkout” etc.

    Hello, Arnan,

Thank you for reaching out to us with your concerns regarding the translation issues on your website. We understand how important it is for every aspect of your site to function correctly, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

To assist us in addressing your concerns, we kindly request that you navigate to Loco Translate, select ‘Themes’, then ‘XStore’, and capture a screenshot where both the file name and location are clearly displayed. Please repeat this process for the translation files of ‘XStore Core’ and ‘WooCommerce’.

    Thank you for your cooperation.

    Best Regards,

    Hello, Arnan,

We appreciate you sending over the screenshots. However, we noticed that the images from Loco Translate > Plugins > XStore Core and WooCommerce were not included. Could you please provide these as well?

Hello Rose, ok. I didn’t understand that (plugins) from the first message. I’m sorry. See attached files. I think the problem is obvious, the core translation is only half way there (49%). Can I import the .po file I have for the child theme there for full translation?

    Hello, Arnan,

    We appreciate your prompt response.

This is the correct name – https://prnt.sc/V-ZyUTKbRUh3 , so you need to rename https://prnt.sc/QraW-3F84i89 to xstore-nl_NL.po and https://prnt.sc/2wbABN-b5EKG to xstore-core-nl_NL.po via FTP.

Hi, I’ll have to take a look at this later. Does the same apply for the .mo files?

Hello Rose, I have renamed the files. It seems to work so thank you. I have two follow up questions. 1. The translation percentage is still 49% at this point. The .po file from my child theme is 100%. Can I upload the .po file from the child them via Plugins / Xstore Core/ xstore-core_nl.po (system) for 100% translation? 2. As you can see in the attached print screen is not only the percentage of translation only 49% but also there is a warning that “Binair file is missing”. It states that the binair file MO cannot be found. I didn’t remove it but just rename. What can I do to solve this?

    Hello, Arnan,

1/ There is no need to translate the child theme, even if it is activated, you just need to translate the parent theme. The child theme contains a few strings, and it is not suitable for uploading as you described, so please do not do this.

Please note that you need to translate only the necessary strings, visible on the frontend, you do not need to translate manually to 100%.

2/ We require you to access your files via FTP and capture a screenshot that clearly displays the names of the .po and .mo files. Once you have this screenshot, please provide it to us for review.

Thank you for your attention to these details. We appreciate your cooperation and look forward to your prompt response.

    Hi Rose,

See attached files for the requested screenshots. I hope this provides you with enough information? The weird thing is that when I started working on it this morning the translation percentage from XStore Core went down to 16% and it looks like a lot of translation was “lost” overnight. I really don’t get what I do wrong. Is there a possibility to download the .po & .mo files that come with the theme and replace the ones that are currently on my server using the correct names? If so, where can i download them? Thanks for your support.
