hello,
i want to translate my site in greek.
I have translate the default.po with poedit and i have created the files default-el_GR.po and default-el_GR.mo
With ftp i transferred the files at royal/languages and also i have put $locale=’el_GR’; at wp-config.php ,but nothing happens!!
I have osserved that when i set $locale=’el_GR’; at wp-config.php this change my language at wordress general settings in english and i can’t save my language.
Where exactly i must to place it?
What am I doing wrong?
Hello,
I checked your wp-config.php file and didn’t see the code $locale='el_GR';
there, so I’ve added it at the beginning of the file and renamed your translation files to el_GR.po and el_GR.mo files.
Clear browser cache and check your site now.
Regards,
Eva Kemp.
thank you,
you didn’t see the code $locale=’el_GR’; at wp-config.php,because i had actually removed it ,because change my language at wordress general settings in english.Actually now my language is english and i can’t save my language.You can take a look?
Also,the “Add to Wishlist” is not translated although is translated at .po file.
Hello,
If the code $locale='el_GR';
is used in wp-config.php file you don’t need to change language in WordPress settings.
To translate Wishlist go to wp-admin panel > YIT plugins > Wishlist > General Settings and change text to your language.
Also you didn’t translate all strings in the file el_GR.po in wp-content/themes/royal/languages directory, that’s why some strings on your site are still in English.
Check the file and translate them.

Eva Kemp.
yes,but the wordpress left sitebar appears in english and i i don’t want it!
Hello,
Then you need download WordPress package for your language, not in English. Read this article https://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress_in_Your_Language .

Eva Kemp.
i had already installed the package in my language,but the problem still exists
Hello,
I’ve edited translation files and changed locale in wp-config.php file. Clear browser cache and check dashboard now.
