Top Header not displayed, Promotext not saved

Dear all at 8theme!

Again thank you so much for your beautiful themes. I just added another project with a new website built from the “Landing Watch” demo. Here come the final tweaks that I did not find out myself. Thank you for your help.

#1 – Promotext items are not saved (upper right, see pink dot on screenshot provided in the private content area).

#2 – Top header is not displayed, when scrolling down from the Home view (see screenshot).

#3 – I could not find out how to set the font size and font color in the link section of the footer area (orange area on screenshot), these links are implemented by menu block within footer static block. Tried extra class with additional CSS, but it did not work.

#4 – Over all the header set as default is not displayed on the entire website, this is very confusing. The header that actually shows up is not created at all. To be honest, the mess with the headers is very annoying. Unfortunately. 🙂

#5 – On the mobile view I have strange experience, after deactivation the cart button and trying a bit around to fix the mobile menue and others the upper header disappeared completely.

#6 – The mobile menu is set to be the one named “Mobiles Hauptmenü”. Within the Customizer the correct menu shows up. On my mobile device the demo menu shows up (prior to no header at all). I also corrected the second menu but without success.

7# – On the desktop version there is a link to a promovideo (first section when scrolling down), on mobile the link is not working.

So, these are the main problems I am actually facing. Thank you for your help!

Thank you for providing access. The issue is that a different header is selected for the home page, and your settings have not been updated in that header. Please transfer these settings to the appropriate header.

Dear Andrew, thank you very much for your suggestion.

Last week I already changed the Promo settings also for the front page multiple times. The setting simply has not been saved.

NOW after several new tries I saved each single box step by step and found out, that one tiny character leads to deletion of the whole Promo setting, this one: ‘

It was part in the link description. See screenshot. Now the Promo saves and so far seems to work after leaving away this character.

Looking forward to receiving suggestions or solutions for the other tweaks. Thank you!

I don´t know what to do, honestly, it costs so much time! I configured the header for mobile with top and main header on default header and the same on singular / front page header.

On default header the result is shown in the Customizer (see screenshot 1 and 2). But it is not shown on the mobile device, also not when narrowing the browser window to mobile width.

On singular / front page header the mobile header is not shown at all, neither in the Customizer nor on my mobile device. Although all settings including the background color are done (see screenshot 3). After saving and exiting the header the settings have disappeared when reopening the front page header in Customizer. All mobile settings of top header and main header vanished.

Please help, thanks.

For all reading this topic in the future: I had to figure out now by myself, where the problem with the Promo and other header issues was located.

The header setting was set differently over the various header elements (desktop/mobile vs. sticky/non sticky vs. top header/main header/bottom header) by the Landing Watch demo version from initial setup. Sticky headers (top, main, bottom) were turned off in some cases, but not all. Logo was implemented in the main header sometimes or the bottom header sometimes, which, when turned off, resulted in not showing in this single occasion. At first sight for no reason.

Over all it must be said, that this is quite a mess and if you are not very familiar with the header stuff it is quite annoying. Anyhow, I am more or less familiar now, as I had to invest a lot of time in this issue, as you can read above. I like the 8theme style very much, so I just see this as a learning investment. But anyhow, it should not have been necessary.

The only problem left for now is that the header is not shown (anymore) on mobile at all. I will open another topic for this.
