Hi,

Other themes have a nice “update theme” option, certainly my installation on two sites does not seem to support this. Simply re-uploading the theme doesn’t work as the folder already exists and the apply theme function will err. It looks like the only way to update my xstore theme is to make another theme active, then sftp it up to the server and change the theme again.

Is this normal? If not, what is a better way to achieve a theme update without resorting to sftp – this is not ideal for clients to manage.

Hello,

Thank you for the question.

You can reupload theme with a new version in Appearance -> Themes, but you need to install this plugin before https://wordpress.org/plugins/easy-theme-and-plugin-upgrades/

It will allow you upload already existed theme and replace this folder without any errors.
