  given that i use child theme i have a quick question : when you publish a new theme update i usually update only parent theme … but do i have to update child theme as well ?

  Hello,

  It depends on the changes you make in the child theme. If you copied to child theme files from the parent theme that were changed in the update then you probably need to add these changes to the child theme. But as a rule, you don’t need to touch anything in the child theme after the parent theme update.
