Hi guys and Thank you again for #1 theme!

I have a question about the theme change / update.
I just mad a lot of change in CSS and some functionality in the footer header and product page, Title names etc.
1-How I can keep my theme customization after migrate it to an other server and after the future theme update?
2-How to export / import the content ( Slider, Product pictures and data ) and use it again
3-How to keep it after future theme update.

    Thanks you sir,

    Hello,

    1. You should make changes in Theme Options > Custom CSS or in your child theme, but never edit original style.css file. Before migrating to other server you need create a back up of the site files and database https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups .

    2. To export the content create a back up and then upload your files to new server and restore the database https://codex.wordpress.org/Restoring_Your_Database_From_Backup .

    3. All changes are saved after theme update, if you make them in child theme or in custom.css.

More information about backups you can get at your hosting provider.

    Best regards,
    Jack Richardson.

    Hello Sara,

    1) yes, you can move your css customization(but not whole style.css file) from style.css to Theme Options > Custom CSS.
    2) All customization made to theme files may be lost on theme update because theme files will be overwritten.

    Regards,
    Stan Russell.

Hi and thank you for your response

I would love to know what is the solution for answer number 2:

    2) All customization made to theme files may be lost on theme update because theme files will be overwritten.

    – of course Is not to not update the theme.

    Thank you again

    Hello,

    2. If you make changes in Theme Options or in Woocommerce settings, or in pages in WP Dashboard > Pages section, then your modifications won’t be lost after theme update.

    Best regards,
    Jack Richardson.

    Ok I understand

All customization made to theme files may be lost on theme update because theme files will be overwritten. Unless I did it from Woo-commerce or theme setting page

By the fact is I did some edit from Appearance > Edit

So is there any way to update the specific code/ page which will be changed after the theme update

    As always, Thank you sir

    Hello,

You have to update whole theme.
You need make changes in child theme if you want to edit some theme files.

    Best regards,
    Jack Richardson.
