Problem Description:
My wordpress website has great speed without theme but the moment theme is installed the server speed reduces drastically. It takes around 40s to 60s to load the page. We have dedicated server from hostgator. (3.6Ghz Quadcore, 6GB Ram, suPhp Handler)
Following corrective / steps have been performed.
1. Verified server settings (Memory, Keep Alive, Server Response)
2. Removed / replaced theme: Site runs blazing fast with other themes
3. Theme Check plugin shows a large number of warnings
4. Enabled settings for performance (Gzip, Minify, Cache)
Could you please guide? This speed is stopping us form going live, so we need support urgently.
P.S. Some details were requested, please let me know where can i forward these.
Hello,
Please provide us with FTP and WP Dashboard credentials in private content.

Thank you.
Best regards,
Jack Richardson.
Dear Jack,
If you check plugins at our admin panel, the solution of heartbeat control had been implemented long ago and still we have the issue of very slow website.
Could you share your email ID and have a skype chat? We need to address this speed issue immediately. Hoping for a quick and positive response.
Hello,
Please update the theme to the latest version and Woocommerce as well.
Before update delete “woocommerce” folder in the directory wp-content/themes/woopress/ and it’ll be reuploaded from a new theme package.
Also update all required plugins https://www.8theme.com/download-plugins/ .
Don’t forget to create back up of your files and database before starting update process!
(it’s for Legenda theme but the process is the same).
Also disable all 3rd-party plugins and check site speed after that.
Best regards,
Jack Richardson.
Unfortunately, upgrading the theme to the latest version is not an option as we have performed some minor CSS customizations. Are there any release notes for the fixes in the newer versions in the theme.
As far as plugins are concerned, we have tried disabling them to check if some of them are causing the issue.
Disabling the theme or installing another one makes the site pretty fast, so pretty sure the problem is with the theme.
Interestingly, the same website when we test on another server with the same theme files, it runs reasonably ok. On production server however, the theme is slowing the website by a huge time.
Both servers (production and test) are fresh installations and have similar settings. Are some specific settings required for the theme to run smoothly ?
The downtime is really hurting our business pretty severely, we would appreciate your immediate help on this issue.
Hello,
We’ve improved our theme as much as we could. And we have already emphasized if someone of our customers has experience in development and has proposals concerning changes in the theme (we mean only specific changes in the code in particular files, rather than general phrases like “Reduce CSS File” etc), we are asking to declare them here or contact us via the contact form https://www.8theme.com/contact-us/
Thank you for understanding.
Regards,
Eva Kemp.
Hi Eva,
I guess you have misunderstood my request.
I can clearly see that the performance of the theme is different for different servers. So is the theme performance dependent on some underlying server settings ?
On the server, we tried replacing the theme with a different theme and it runs lighting fast, we set it to this theme and its about 60s to load one single page.
Hello,
You can find theme requirements in the documentation https://www.8theme.com/demo/docs/woopress/#!/general_information .
Please check if you set them correctly.
Regards,
Eva Kemp.
