Theme installation is asking for plugin update

At the top of my Home theme page, the following text is at the top of the page:

XStore theme requires the following plugin: Core plugin v.2.3.9
Core Plugin 2.3.9 needed

I’ve followed the instructions as to how to get this update but have had no luck.
What do I do to obtain this?
