    Hi,

We have webstore with many plugins and now we have situation where we need to update EightTheme Royal theme to the newest version of it. We need also update woocommerce parts like these:

    royal/woocommerce/cart/cart.php versio 2.3.0. available version 2.3.8,
    royal/woocommerce/content-product.php versio 1.6.4. available version 2.4.0,
    royal/woocommerce/content-product_cat.php versio 1.6.4. available version 2.4.0
    royal/woocommerce/single-product/tabs/tabs.php versio 2.0.0. available version 2.4.0

    Also plugins:

Master Slider WP, Version 2.9.12 | By averta | View details
There is a new version of Master Slider WP available. View version 2.20.3 details

Ultimate Addons for Visual Composer, Version 3.10 | By Brainstorm Force | Visit plugin site
There is a new version of Ultimate Addons for Visual Composer available

WooCommerce Product Add-ons, Version 2.7.9 | By WooThemes | View details, 2.7.10 is available

So we want to make dublicate or clone our site for development, but we are not familiar with that process and we have already tried dublicator, wp clone couple else tools to do clone of the site, but always there are some memory issues (too big files or cache or something) and clone doesn´t finished properly.

And we aren´t familiar with the backup process eather, I mean that we have done copying al the files to local copy (it took many hours), but we haven´t done backup of the database, because that semms to be little bit more difficult than make a backup of the wp files.

We also like do backup that way it is all the way same as our current site, I mean that if we like to do restoration from backup it restores all the settings we have done in the theme, woocommerce nad all the plugins and setups what we have done, I mean all. It need to be as site is now.

So we are asking where to start and how to do backup properly and clone for developmetn purposes. Also we are asking how often updates are going to fail and there is need for backup, is that % how high to failures? And if we need to restore everything from the backup, we don´t know if that backup is working properly, because we haven´t tested it before actual use, is there any possibility to test backup somehow?

So where to start and how to make all this working properly? We are little bit at hurry, because we need to lauch site as soon as possible, we are late on our schedule.

    Please, contact administrator
    for this information.

    Hello,

Regarding the back up, you can ask your hosting provider to help you to create it (the files and database). You can read here https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups how to create backup properly. Also memory issue on a server should be fixed by your hosting provider.

You can download the latest versions of the plugins at this link:
    https://www.8theme.com/download-plugins/

How to update theme is shown in our video tutorial:

(it’s for Legenda theme but the process is the same).

Before update delete “woocommerce” folder in the directory wp-content/themes/royal/ and it’ll be reuploaded from a new theme package.

    Best regards,
    Jack Richardson.
