    HI,
    I have a general question.
They advised me to increase the security of the site, to change the wordpress database prefix.
I’m not asking you how to change the prefix that I think I can easily do it.
But I ask you something that may also be useful for other users who want this.
In prefix change stage I should disable all plugins and themes….

The question I ask you in reactivating the theme could I lose the changes I have made up to now?
What form of theme backup do you recommend?
the method of going theme options then export/import then export/import and exporto .. is it a good method?

    Kind regard
    Gianluca

    Hello, @Gianluca,

When you change the WordPress database prefix, it is generally recommended to disable all plugins and themes as a precautionary measure to ensure the process goes smoothly without any conflicts. Disabling the themes and plugins helps prevent any potential issues that may arise during the prefix change.

When you reactivate the theme after changing the database prefix, there is a possibility that you might lose some changes you have made to the theme. This can occur if the theme options or settings are stored in the WordPress database using the old prefix.

To avoid losing your changes, it’s always a good practice to back up your theme before making any changes. There are a few different methods you can use to back up your theme:

    1. Manual Backup: You can manually create a backup of your theme files by downloading them via FTP or using a file manager in your hosting control panel. Simply copy the entire theme folder to your local computer or a separate location on your server.

    2. Theme Options Export/Import: Our theme provides an export/import feature for its options. This allows you to export the theme settings to a file and then import them back after reactivating the theme.

    3. Child Theme: If you have made customizations to your theme’s files, it’s always a good idea to use a child theme. A child theme inherits the functionality and styling of its parent theme while allowing you to make customizations without modifying the original theme files. This way, when you reactivate the parent theme, your changes in the child theme will remain intact.

    4. Contact your hosting provider and ask to take the complete backup of your site, because if any inconvenience will occur, then you can contact your hosting provider and ask to run that backup for you.

Remember to test your backups before making any changes to ensure they can be successfully restored if needed. It’s also a good practice to keep regular backups of your entire WordPress site, including the database, files, and themes so that you can restore it in case of any unforeseen issues.

    Kind Regards,
