The store is very slow, is it because of the xstore theme?

    Good day,

On our woocommerce store we already have the paid WP rocket plugin installed to speed up the store, I also have Redis installed and configured. We also blocked bots that were constantly entering the site and slowing down traffic. Despite all this, the site is still very slow. Are there any other ways to speed up the store website?

I also don’t know if the xstore template is responsible for the slow store operation – is there any way to check this?

    Best regards

    Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We appreciate the detailed information you’ve provided regarding the current optimization measures implemented on your WooCommerce store. It’s great to hear that you are already using WP Rocket, Redis, and have taken steps to block unwanted bot traffic.

In addition to these optimizations, here are a few further suggestions that may help improve your store’s performance:

    1. Image Optimization: Ensure that all images are properly compressed and served in next-gen formats (such as WebP) to reduce load times.

    2. Database Optimization: Regularly clean and optimize your WordPress database to remove unnecessary data such as post revisions, transients, and spam comments.

    3. Theme and Plugin Audit: Deactivate any unused plugins and ensure that all active plugins are necessary and lightweight. Some plugins can significantly impact performance.

    4. Hosting Environment: Consider whether your current hosting plan is sufficient for your store’s traffic and resource needs.

    5. Content Delivery Network (CDN): If not already in use, a CDN can help distribute your content more efficiently to users across different regions.

Regarding the XStore theme, it is designed with performance in mind, but the overall speed can also depend on how the theme is configured and what additional customizations or third-party plugins are in use.

We would also like to inform you that we are currently working on an upcoming update to the XStore theme, which will include several performance improvements.

We hope this information is helpful.

    Best Regards,
    8Theme’s Team

Query Monitor shows multiple slow and duplicate SQL queries related to ethene_mega_menus and wp_terms, especially triggered by WP_Term::get_instance() and Pro Elements (Elementor Pro).

PageSpeed Insights reports high LCP and Speed Index values (e.g. LCP mobile 5s+).

    Can you please help me:
Optimize or reduce the number of queries caused by mega menus?
Provide any known performance optimization recommendations specific to XStore?
Confirm which features can be safely disabled to improve performance without breaking layout?

Plus: „et-core-plugin appears to be querying ethene_mega_menus excessively when returning from WooCommerce cart.”

    Dear Kamil,

Thank you for reaching out and for your detailed feedback.

Yesterday, we released a major update — version 9.5 — which includes significant speed optimizations across the theme and core plugin. We highly recommend creating a full site backup before updating, and monitoring your website’s performance for 24–48 hours after the update to ensure everything functions as expected.

We appreciate your patience and feedback as we continue to improve performance and stability.

    Best regards,
    8Theme’s Team

This update has not been released but with speed we are waiting the same issue to be resolved, the site runs very very slow with redit and on a very powerful VPS setup

Please check the update, as the 9.5 version in downloads is not 9.5 it’s the last version of 9.4.14

There also no auto update being triggered on

    Dear finleydesign,

Thank you for contacting us and for your patience.

We understand your concern regarding the update and the performance issues you’re experiencing. Please allow us to clarify a few important points:

We have verified that the latest version of the XStore theme (v.9.5) has been correctly uploaded to ThemeForest. However, in some cases, the ThemeForest system may take a little time to reflect the new version in the Downloads section. If you are still seeing version 9.4.14, we kindly recommend clearing your browser cache or trying to access your Downloads from a different browser or device.

Regarding automatic updates, please note that our system checks for updates every 48 hours to reduce server load. If the last check occurred before the new version was released, the update may not yet appear in your dashboard. You can manually trigger the update check by following these steps:

How to Force an Update Check:

    1. Go to Dashboard > Updates
    2. Click the “Check Again” button
    3. Locate the XStore theme in the list
    4. Select the theme and click the “Update” button

    https://www.8theme.com/documentation/xstore/theme-installation/theme-update/

Please also ensure that your theme is activated and that the XStore Core plugin is updated to the latest version, as both are required for the update process to function correctly.

If you continue to experience issues or need further assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to help.

    Dear finleydesign,

    Thank you for your message.

We have cleared our server and CDN caches. Please try downloading the theme again.

If the issue persists, kindly follow these steps:

    1. Double-check your Downloads folder to ensure there are no other XStore archives that might be causing a conflict. Try saving the new download in a different, newly created folder.

    2. If the problem continues, please go to your ThemeForest Downloads section and download the archive directly from there.

    3. Should the issue still remain unresolved, we kindly ask you to create a support topic on our forum and provide temporary access credentials. Our team will be happy to upload the theme for you. Please make sure to create a full backup of your site before sharing access.

We appreciate your patience and understanding, and we’re here to help you get everything up and running smoothly.

    Best regards,
    8Theme Team
