    Hi,

I am a little stuck to say the least!

    On trying to install a child theme and following all the instructions given I still keep getting the message;

“The parent theme could not be found…”

I don’t know why this keeps happening. The theme is very much there and the url created in the .css placed within the child theme is all linked correctly.

    Any ideas anyone?

    Hello,

I’ve edited the wp-content/themes/blanco-child/style.css file as described in the documentation https://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes . Please check your child theme now.

    Best regards,
    Jack Richardson.

Thank you for this, however I was adviced in the early days of purchasing this theme to create a custom.css stylesheet also. Therefore I believe this means I need to pull this in to the child theme also?

I also see there is other stylesheets and css folders etc. Shall I need to pull all these in? I have attempted this in the stylesheet you created in the child theme but this doesn’t seem to work and when I activate the child theme quite a lot breaks!

Thank you so much for your help.

    Hello,

I’ve activated child theme and selected “Main Menu” in Appearance > Menus > Manage Locations.
Please check your site now. If there are still any problems please clarify what exactly “breaks”.

Also if you use child theme you can make all style customizations in the wp-content/themes/blanco-child/style.css file. Therefore custom.css in parent theme works too if it’s activated in theme options.

I also see there is other stylesheets and css folders etc. Shall I need to pull all these in?

No, you don’t need to copy all other stylesheets and css folders.

    Best regards,
    Jack Richardson.
