Also the theme checker plugin gave a big list of issues with the theme is this the cause of the slow running site? I added the ftp information below if needed. Thanks in advance.

    Hello,

My site was also very slow, so tried to speed it up. I read everything above and decided to install “Wp super cache”, “Autoptimize” and “WP smush it”. After that there is a big problem with my site – I can see only html structure, something went wrong with css file – I think.

Please take a look and help me to dissolve the problem.

    Hello,

I think that plugin called “Autoptimize” causes problems. I tried with every installed plugin – WP Super cache, WP Smush and Autoptimize.

At last I turned off “optimize html code” “optimize css code” and “optimize javascript” and looks like it works again, but please check it and take a look on my site.

    Best regards!

    Hello @MagmMe,

As I see now your site is working fine.
    Is your issue resolved now?
Also we recommend you to update the theme to the latest version.
Before update delete “woocommerce” folder in the directory wp-content/themes/legenda/ and it’ll be reuploaded from a new theme package.
Also update all required plugins https://www.8theme.com/download-plugins/ .

Don’t forget to create back up of your files and database before starting update process!

(it’s for Legenda theme but the process is the same).

    Best regards,
    Jack Richardson.

    Hello Eva,

I did try all the links and work out how to improve even a little the speed of the site. Nothing really works in contrary it messes up the entire site. Still no solution to this issue. Also the visual composer needs an update. Could you please help me out with something that actually improves the loading time of the royal engine or with information that actually works? I also do know that most of the problems is related to the hosting. But i do know it should be possible to increase speed, because other themes do load way faster on the crappy hosting.

    With kind regards

    Hello @RBInspyred,

I’ve updated Visual Composer and Ultimate Addons for Visual Composer plugins for you.
As you can see on this test page http://www.webpagetest.org/result/150728_AF_PFR/1/details/ slow loading is caused by some images and .shtml files
Please check if they are created correctly.
Also ask your hosting provider to enable gzip compression on a server and follow the instructions concerning optimization.

    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.

    Hello Eva,

thanks for your reply, I will work this out, but i do have one last question about this issue. I cant seem to figure out where this .shhtml is coming from. ITs something I havent created, chrome responds with to many redirects to 404.shtml. Really odd. Thanks in advance.

    with kind regards.

    Hello @RBInspyred,

Seems that is default file on your server for non existing pages.

    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.
