Site wont load after activating The Leader Fatal Error

Hello, I installed version The Leader 2.0 yesterday and worked on it… today morning.. I could not access my admin page nor the site was loading.. just a blank page…
Hosting resolved the issue deactivating the theme…. they said this is the error they got:

This is the error: [09-Dec-2015 03:26:39 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Cannot redeclare add_term_meta() (previously declared in /home/tibetaus/public_html/wp-includes/taxonomy.php:1571) in /home/tibetaus/public_html/wp-content/themes/theleader/framework/inc/taxonomy-metadata.php on line 103

any solution you can give me so I can use your theme safely and stable? please tell me what to do… I need this to be working. Thank you in advance.

Hi,

The Leader 1.9 seems to not be compatible with the version of WordPress (4.4) that auto-updated last night.

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare add_term_meta() (previously declared in /homepages/28/d590336008/htdocs/Bombki.co.uk/wp-includes/taxonomy.php:1571) in /homepages/28/d590336008/htdocs/Bombki.co.uk/wp-content/themes/theleader/framework/inc/taxonomy-metadata.php on line 103

It is critical that this is fixed asap please. Can you please confirm when a fix will be released?

I’ve edited the file wp-content/themes/theleader/framework/inc/taxonomy-metadata.php and now your site is active.
Please clear browser cache and check.

Hmmm… okay, so what was the problem then that broke our website for 18 hrs?
Nothing you can write a warning about so more will not just update and have the same experience?

I edited the file wp-content/themes/theleader/framework/inc/taxonomy-metadata.php and commented some functions.
This issue will be fixed in the next theme update.

Hi Jinesh,

Have you upgraded to 2.1? Because for me the 8theme-team fixed this problem permanently in that version.

If you are using 2.0 you should try to comment everything from row 85 and to the end of taxonomy-metadata.php.
