    Hi, I hope you can help.
    I’ve been through all the tutorials i can find on restoring my site after a hacker got in.

    However, I am unsure where my actual content is located for products, posts etc

    1. I deleted all files from the server but left the databse sql file in place and untouched.

    2. I had backed up the whole site to drop box fortunately , but i used a tool which has no restore function (backwpup), so it has to be manual .:)

    3. I reinstalled a clean wordpress into the http://www.werone.co/eng/ folder and adjusted the htaccess and index.php in root to point to the new wordspress installation, which all works ok with the themes, but no data shows.

    4. I uploaded a new woopress theme folder into themes and activated it ok and it works.

    5. I renamed wp-content folder (to keep it safe) and uploaded my old wp-content folder.
    Result: White screen whenever the old woopress theme is selected but still ok when I use default wp theme, tho no data shows from the old site. incidentally, sometimes my old site did this every few weeks, and by replacing pluggable.php in includes folder worked every time.

    I am baffled as to where the data is held for everything, I thought it was held in the sql database?, why doesn’t my data show up on the standard Twenty Fifteen site?

    I would really appreciate any help you can give.

    I will send over access details if you need them again

    Hello,

    Please take our apologies, but we can’t help you in this situation.
    Your data is stored in database and you have to contact your hosting provider support and ask them to restore correct database from the backup they have on a server.

    Best regards,
    Jack Richardson.

    Hi Jack thanks for your answer. As I said above the database hasn’t been deleted, it’s still there untouched, it was still working before I deleted the wordpress site and then reinstalled a clean one, then when I replace the woopress folder the backup of woopress I get white screen, can you not help with that part? I only did the removal of the install because my isp asked me to, it was actually all working before this episode.

    If the database is in place ( I have access via myphpadmin by the way, see private) then why do I get a white screen with the reinstate OLD woopress?

    I have put the OLD woopress folder(2.5?) named ‘OLDwoopress’ with my design outside of /themes/folder (which gives white screen when activated in themes folder), this I am worried about losing, it just gives white screen when I switch to it.

    The new clean woopress 2.7 folder is in the themes folder and seems to work but shows no data.

    I have not reinstated the site images which is SAFE located here:
    /html4/eng/SAFEwp-content/uploads

    do you think you can look at this again please, I don’t understand why switching to the old woopress folder breaks the site, can you look inside the folder for integrity please?

    Many thanks Jack and Eva

    Hello,

    To avoid misunderstanding, please activate old Woopress theme where you’re getting white page and show us a page link. We’ll check this issue.

    Thank you.

    Thanks Eva 🙂

    I’ve moved the clean woopress folder outside of themes and imported and activated the old woopress folder and the white screen is there now.

    Hello,

    There was an error:
    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '<' in /var/www/html/home-control.co.uk/html.werone/eng/wp-content/themes/woopress/headers/parts/top-bar.php on line 2

    I’ve fixed it and now site is loading.
    Please check.

    Thanks Eva, yes, the basic ‘Hello world’ is working thanks, but I also had that with the new woopress 2.7 install.

    What I don’t understand is why it’s not reading the database data, it’s not been touched, I thought somehow the old woopress folder might have hooked up with it. I’ve checked the wp_config file and the database values etc are all correct.

    I have even restored the sql database from backup using the BackWPup restoral program from my saved sql file and still no change, you can see a snapsot below and here was the report, only one error and that was in the wp-config file:

    “ERROR: Pleace set $table_prefix = ‘wp_’; in wp-config.php
    Database Querys done.
    Make changes for Blogurl and ABSPATH if needed.
    Restore Done. Please delete the SQL file after restoring.”

    so I corrected the table_prefix in wp-config and uploaded it, still just Hello World, and no config errors 🙂

    I also have the ‘uploads’ image folder in place in wp-config now, but it doesn’t pickup even the logo image in the header 🙁 , there must be something very simple that’s wrong here. I just don’t know how the theme picks hooks into the databse to know how to fix this, have you any ideas?

    Many Thanks! 🙂

    Hello,

    Please take our apologies but concerning site restoring you have to contact your hosting provider support as it’s not related to the theme.

    Hi Eva,
    Thanks but my ISP doesn’t know wordpress at all, but my database looks fine, even the posts and users etc. 🙁

    In the process today I’ve managed to get the white screen again 🙁 , I was editing the wp-config.php because i thought the table prefix ($table_prefix = ‘wp_’;) may need changing to get it to see the database, but I put it back to wp_ and after getting the reinstall screen briefly i know have the white screens of death even on the admin.

    Can you please have a look and see why the theme isn’t showing up now?

    details of wp_config are in private to see if they look right. my tables in the database do start with wp_ and the login details are fine too.

    many thanks

    Ky

    Hello,

    As I see now your site is working and no white screen is there.
    We recommend you to contact some developer who will assist you on database restoring.
    Please take our apologies but we don’t provide such kind of support and working in PHPmyAdmin panel is related to hosting provider, not to the theme authors.

    Please take our apologies.

    Eva Kemp.

    I’ve fixed the white screen by using an older wp-config, but I still don’t have it talking to the database. I’m fairly sure this is a simple config issue with the wp-config file, I just can’t see what it is because I don’t know what the wordpress installation is trying to see in the database.

    I can see that a new post I made is visible in the database folder called: wp_weroneposts and the original posts which are not showing on the site is in a database folder called wp_posts.

    Does that tell us anything?

    Best Regards

    Ky

    Hello,

    As I see in your database panel there are 2 table prefixes – “wp_werone” and “wp_”.
    So what should be used?
    Try to clear your database and restore it from the backup where only one prefix is used.

    Eva Kemp.

    Hi Eva,

    I’ve found the problem 🙂 It was in the plugins folder, at least one of them was conflicting in the restoral. I disabled the whole folder and am adding them one by one, however I have lost the Visual Composer which was I believe was part of the original theme I bought, this means all the code using this including the footer is not displaying correctly(see the front page) , do you know where I could find the VC?

    Thanks Jack, that was a great link 🙂 , I’m uploading the plugins, even tho I’ve installed VC the VC content is not rendering at all, just shows white.

    When i first installed the woopress last year, the VC tools were showing in every post’s edit screen, but not now, I wonder if that means VC isn’t activated correctly?

    When I add the serial codes into VC or the Master Slider and others including my envato name, they are not accepted.

    The front page is missing all the VC elements on public side, but the code is visible in the front page admin editing area.

    Also, the theme (which is the old theme backup) seems to have some files missing, stylesheet and template?
    see: http://werone.co/eng/wp-admin/themes.php

    I tried swapping to the new woopress theme version and got a white screen, so switched to my backup for now.

    Can you have a look at what is wrong please?, the serials are below: we’re getting so close to it now:)

    Many many thanks,

    Kybalio 🙂

    Hello,

    All plugins are external extensions which are included into theme because for each product we purchase “Extended license” and that’s why we are able to include it into them. This plugin works fine without activation and you can always get actual version if you want directly from us. The plugins can be downloaded from this link https://www.8theme.com/download-plugins/ . We update plugins with theme updates from time to time so plugins will be also updated with each next theme update. The option with registering of the plugins has been already added to plugin and this only allows you to get automatic updates and support for this plugin directly from an author if you need. You don’t need to register this product because it is not required but if you want to get those features, then you need to purchase this plugin directly from the author. This is how it works for all themes on Themeforest and not only in our case.

    Have you changed WP credentials? We can’t log in now.
    Please give us correct FTP and WP admin credentials.

    Thank you.

    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.

    I have downloaded all the plugins and put them in the plugins folder (Except master slider) as my ftp program stopped working ,

    I haven’t changed ftp or your passwords 🙁 I just tried to regenerate one for you and nothing happens when you click regenerate, then I created a new user profile and again it creates one but the password generator won’t work 🙁 this is a problem if new users don’t get passwords, any ideas what that could be?

    Actually I can’t access ftp either, the password isn’t being accepted, will contact host now 🙁

    see private for wp access

    many thanks

    The pages on the site aren’t fully loading, when I looked in the Appearance /Widgets there is no side area or footer in the panel to add the widgets to, i also noticce that the site pages are not loading beyond the sidebar top widget, so I think something is wrong here with the install or theme.

    I noticed the theme page said there was a couple of files missing too, could that affect this?

    here is the code truncation from front page
    </div><!– //sidebar-widget –><div id=”woocommerce_products-5″ class=”sidebar-widget woocommerce widget_products”><h4 class=”widget-title”><span>Products</span></h4><ul class=”product_list_widget”><li class=”firstItem”>
    <div class=”media”>
    <a class=”pull-left” href=”http://werone.co/eng/product/aloe-pura-aloe-vera-juice-1l/&#8221; title=”

    Thanks so much Eva, it’s strating to get back to it’s former glory 🙂

    I have a couple of issues tho.

    1. The Appearabnce/Widgets area does not show the site components so I can drag the widgets onto eg: sidebar, footer etc, they seem to be missing (see below)

    2. The Visual Composer is saying there are deprecated pages, I’m not sure where these may be located. I also saw this message about outdated templates in Appearances:

    “Your theme (WooPress – 8theme WordPress theme) contains outdated copies of some WooCommerce template files. These files may need updating to ensure they are compatible with the current version of WooCommerce. You can see which files are affected from the system status page. If in doubt, check with the author of the theme.”

    I followed it throgh, the manual editing of files and where they are plced was very confusing.

    Best Regards

    Ky 🙂

    Hello,

    Have you restored old theme version?
    As I see it’s 2.2 version now instead of 2.8, that I installed for you http://storage2.static.itmages.com/i/16/0330/h_1459343604_9208600_00740ca24e.png .

    2. As some VC elements were modified in the plugin update, you have to recreate some elements on your page that are deprecated.

    You shouldn’t worry about the notices of outdated files. They won’t affect your site at all. We edited Woocommerce files in wp-content/themes/woopress/woocommerce directory and old version may be written in those files. But, please don’t worry, as the original version is written in wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/templates directory.
    So you can hide this message or you can fix it by editing the files in wp-content/themes/woopress/woocommerce directory and change the version to the current Woocommerce version that you’re using.

    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.

    Hi Eva and Jack,

    Thanks so much for your help, you’ve provided amazing support! 🙂

    I didn’t change the woopress theme, I uploaded an older style sheet, it looks like that is where the version number is located. I’ve changed it back now and am using the Theme options / Css to make the mods instead. 🙂

    Can you have a look at the image zoom in the products please?, there is two grey bars at each side of the image, it’s part of the owl pagination buttons, they look a bit ugly, are they easily removed?

    also, the title on some products seems to stay on one line instead of have a line break, such as this title after the word postage! needs the Jing Thing to break onto the next line.

    http://werone.co/eng/product/jing-thing-instant-sample-just-pay-postage/?preview_id=3177

    On this page it seems to wrap over as it should..

    Hello,

    Add this code in Theme Options > Custom CSS > Global Custom CSS:

    .owl-theme .owl-controls .owl-buttons div {
       background: transparent !important;
    }
    .page-heading.bc-type-2 .title {
        width: 100% !important;
    }

    Check your site after that.

    Would you know why I don’t have Side bar on the widgets page?, there is just widgets on the left side and the right side is blank 🙁

    i need to add a side menu category widget for products but there’s no target area available

    best regards
