Shop page banner position seems broken #2

The old topic seems to be closed.

Having built a new copy of our testing website, I still have the same issue adding a banner to a shopping (category) page.

I followed the instructions in the previous topic (https://www.8theme.com/topic/shop-page-banner-position-seems-broken/) but I can’t seem to get it to work. Can you please have a check? (login details in private area)

Hello,

We added a new option for our customers (to close their topics) and probably you closed it by mistake.

I have checked the shop page of your staging site and there is slider there http://prntscr.com/sgjgqx
If I add the shortcode to the product category description http://prntscr.com/sgjisx it appears on the category page http://prntscr.com/sgjj3d

Could you explain to me in more detail what you want to change?

Hello Olga,

don’t know what went wrong before. I can see the banner now as well. But I also noticed that you added a static block under description of the category.
Does this mean that I don’t need to add content under Xstore Shop page layout -> Shop page banner content, as this content will be overruled by the description of the category? (https://prnt.sc/sgl79h)

Also: would it be possible to have the banner move up (so it connects to the far top edge of the body) and have the breadcrumbs be placed under the banner? (like so: https://prnt.sc/sglj7t)

Hello,

1) Shop page banner appears only on the shop page, not on the product category page. If you want to add banner on the product category you should add it to category description. Maybe you forgot to clear plugin cache, that’s why you did not see the changes. We would not recommend using cache plugin during the development process. Enable it once you finish.

2) If you want to show the same banner next to the header before the breadcrumbs then use multiple headers option and create special header with the static block shortcode in the bottom header and show it for the shop and product categories only https://youtu.be/BpeXfzNwkOc
Because shop page banner appears after the breadcrumbs only (full-width or in container but only after the breadcrumbs).
