Set new sidebar to Blog pages - by David Henry

How do I set a new blog sidebar to the posts?

Also, the sidebar appears at the bottom, not the side

Hello,

Do you want to have different sidebars on Blog and Single Post pages? Main sidebar (Appearance > Widgets) shows on these pages by default, it can be changed by selecting another Widget Area in [8theme] Layout options.
In Theme Options > Blog, you can disable sticky sidebar or change sidebar position for mobile https://prnt.sc/mhc3h5

this is what was looking for but seem to be missing, I cannot find an option under any heading to select the custom sidebar.

Hello,

Go to Pages > edit Blog page > [8theme] Layout options > Widget Area > select desired sidebar.

You can use [8theme] Layout options on post pages also.

You can add the desired content in the Main sidebar widget area.

Ok, this makes a lot more sense. use the Main sidebar and only customize pages. All done, and good now!
