Hi, I’ve tried to embed a self-hosted video on: http://www.jensengrill.com/da (pls scroll half way down)
All I get is a black box and a “download” text – I’d like to display the first frame and the play button. I used all kinds of VC elements but nothing shows it as expected/default.

    What to do pls?
    Thanks for your time.

    Hello,

Unfortunately there is no element for self-hosted video. You have to upload your video to Youtube or Vimeo and show it using Video Player element in VC editor.

Hi there Eva, I think I’m not quite following you. The VC elements working as a WP text container should be able to reflect a standard WP function. Like I’ve tried on the frontpage, i.e. not using the youtube video element.

If VC can’t, then your theme alone should without VC be able to show standard WP functionality. I’ve tried this as well here: http://www.jensengrill.com/da/test-af-video/ using plain WP page creation.

But that doesn’t work as well?

    Hello,

As you can see there is an error that video can’t be loaded:
    http://storage3.static.itmages.com/i/15/1123/h_1448291000_7628299_00928a6de8.png

The same issue persists with default WordPress theme too, activate Twenty Fifteen theme and check.

You may try to use some plugin to achieve what your want.

    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.

Thanks for looking into it so quick. It should work with wp default so maybe it’s the video encoding. I’ll do some tests…
