Hello,

I have some problems with the secondary menu on Electronics theme.
When testing the site with tools.pingdom.com it shows that the site loads 2 times.
When disabling secondary menu, it loads correctly.
I’m trying to optimize the site and can’t do anything about it.
Please help me, as it is really annoying.

Could you, please, provide me the screenshot with information that your site is loaded twice? Are you talking about some files or what?

I’ve tested on tools.pingdom.com and it shows 16 to 20 sec load time with secondary menu on and 5-7 seconds with secondary menu off.

Hello,

It’s because of additional requests that secondary menu has and images that you use there.
At first, try to optimize images that you use for your menu. To reduce the size of the page with the menu http://prntscr.com/hd9nb4

For example instead of 600x600px use 130×130 optimized image that has only 6kb http://prntscr.com/hd9dyc

Also, I would recommend you to check and optimize all the images you have. Because you are using for slider png images that do not have transparent bg and has for example 598 KB http://prntscr.com/hd9l5b If you save it as jpg and optimize using tinypng.com it has 61kb http://prntscr.com/hd9m6r I have optimized only 4 slider images, disabled plugins that you don’t use (360 viewer, subscriptions, woozone) and your page speed on pingdom is 10s instead of 16 https://tools.pingdom.com/#!/cDlpfY/http://climahoreca.ro

Also, install a good cache plugin (WPRocket or W3 total cache) and it will improve the performance.

If I understand correctly, as long as I use the secondary menu the site will load 2 times because of additional requests in the menu?
And by optimizing the pictures in the menu I will reduce the load time of the menu but not eliminate the double load?

Hello,

Your site does not load 2 times. It’s loading slower because of the number of items and images in your secondary menu. Once I installed W3 total cache plugin site speed without secondary menu is 2.50s https://tools.pingdom.com/#!/b0uYSs/http://www.climahoreca.ro/
when the secondary menu is enabled – 2.74 s https://tools.pingdom.com/#!/ct5Qcs/http://www.climahoreca.ro/

Is it bad result?

Now the load results are ok, but it behaves strange. Sometimes slider is not loading.
Filter functions in shop are working properly only first 2-3 times. If you change the filters a more than that, it stops working.

Hello,

It’s not crashing anymore but now when you select a category to filter, when you want to change the filter it doesn’t show all the options. You have to first clear the selection and then you see the entire list and choose another selection.

More details:
I select a category for all 3 filters.
If I want to change the brand for example, I need first to clear the brand filter, by selecting “Orice Brand” [=any brand] and then it shows again the list of brands available for the other 2 filters applied.
I’ve attached a screenshot with the steps I filtered.

Hello,

I see. Unfortunately, I can’t help you with this because this is default WooCommerce plugin widgets and if you enable official WC theme Storefront you’ll see the same situation http://prntscr.com/he8ttw It’s not related to our theme.

Looks like this is how WC plugin works. But you may post your question of WC plugin support forum and maybe WC support has some solution for you.
