Search results defaulted to products confusing when searching for posts only

When searching for posts only when product search options are disabled, the search results displays a page saying no products found (this happens when pressing enter after typing search term but works as intended if clicking on View All link on the ajax dropdown). I would like to show results for posts relating to the search term on the results page after pressing enter.

Also, when both product and post search options are enabled, the search results are fine when displaying terms related to products but does not display post results on the results page. Ajax dropdown feature will display results for posts which is great, but a little confusing if after pressing enter from the search bar, the display page only shows product listings (if any) and not the posts.

And if possible, can you add an option for displaying post only and visa versa as the default search page layout. I like the ajax dropdown showing results for terms but as soon as I press the enter key, it all gets a little confusing. Duplicating the ajax dropdown onto the page results would be fine and less confusing.

Nice work on the latest update. Pressing enter after keying in post terms will display post results. Thank you for this fix.

Having both product and post options will present a little confusion still if someone is looking for post related terms and not products. The default results page still shows product only results. And if the term is not a product, then the results page will show “no products” listed. Only when clicking on the View All link from the ajax dropdown will provide users with the proper results page. I am able to handle this by separating products and posts with a multi-site setup, each having their own dedicated search results.

Overall, I am satisfied with the latest update. Looks great and keep up the good work!

Hello,

XStore is the e-commerce oriented theme that’s why the main search is the search for products (if another is not set in Theme options). We don’t have the special page that displays both results posts and products, that’s why if you press enter you can get either products or posts.
