We recently upgrade our theme from Royal 1.5.2 to the latest version of Royal. Now, our page footer is messed up. I hope someone can help.

After the upgrade, we have just two main widget areas in the footer. Footer One appears just above the footer area and extends the width of the page. Footer Two appears in the footer area and extends the width of the page. Footer Two current contains many of our footer elements. The Footer Copyright and Footer Links areas seem to work fine.

I’d like our footer area structured like those shown in the Theme Options > Footers part of our WordPress admin area.

One clue I can offer is that our old theme did have several old, custom widgets, most of which were unused in the site. In hindsight I should have removed these widgets before upgrading. When we upgraded, we had several display problems, including the footer. I first tried to resolve those problems by exporting our widgets from version 1.5.2 and importing them into the current version. That didn’t fix anything and many of the widgets wouldn’t import. I resolved the display problems, except for the footer area, by removing the custom widgets.

How can I fix the structure of my footer area?

    Hello,

    1) By default you see the footer demo content that can be disabled in Theme Options > Footer > Demo content > Off.
    2) To create Footer with multi-columns layout use the Static Block feature. Enable WPBakery page builder for the static blocks (WPBakery > Role Manager > Post types > Custom and check also the static blocks). Then go to Static Blocks > Add new and create footer layout with content. After that go to Appearance > Widgets > add the Static block widget into footer widget area.

    Regards

Thanks Olga, very helpful. I just now found this information in the online theme documentation as well.

    A couple of follow-ups:
–When I use the Social Links object in my footer, I select the Large Icon size and Colorful Icon option, but the icons remain the same size and have no color. Any ideas?

–When I use the Twitter Slider object in the my footer, I get an message “Not Enough Information” displayed instead of a slider. I’ve tried specifying both my twitter handle and twitter URL, but neither work. I don’t know what the Consumer and User fields are in the object and can’t find any documentation on how to fill in these fields. Can you point me to some documentation?

    –Matt

    Hello,

    1) Small and normal icons come without bg and icons are smaller. Large comes with the bg and background changes the color https://gyazo.com/cccc3438a286c4b9e51bcd15e3af7011
    2) You should fill in all the fields. Check this https://support.yapsody.com/hc/en-us/articles/360003291573-How-do-I-get-a-Twitter-Consumer-Key-and-Consumer-Secret-key-
