Register Page stating username already exists

When I test the register page sign up, no matter how unique the username is, I keep getting a “username already exists” error. I don’t understand.

Hello,

I’ve tried to register myself with the username “eva” and registration was successfull. Please check if a username that you’re using is present in wp-admin > Users section.

Still not working for me. I don’t understand…I have tried registering with the most random name and email that isn’t registered there and its still saying username is taken…I even checked the users and none of which are present with the same username…

Hello,

The email address you provided is already used for other user. Please check it in wp-admin panel > Users and search for the email address you gave us.
Please note every new user must use a new email address that’s not registered yet.

I just tried it again with a completely different username and email an it is still not going through.

Hello,

Unfortunately we can’t replicate this issue. Please make sure there are no username and email addresses in wp-admin panel > Users that you’re trying to register. Try to clear browser cache and use some other browser.
