  On the main shop pages and homepage, when a product is out of stock, the hover button shows ‘read more’, but when a product is in stock, it shows ‘add to cart’.

  How can I disable ‘add to cart’ functionality on the main shop pages and homepage and always have the ‘read more’ button? I would like add to cart only on the single product page.

  Hello,

  You can use either translation files and translate ‘add to cart’ to ‘read more’. Or Use WooCommerce snippet https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/change-add-to-cart-button-text/
  Use child theme if you prefer the second way.
