    Hi 8theme.

I was uploading photos of my products, and noticed that they are given a mate/desaturated touch in thumbnail mode. As soon as you hover over the pic, or click it to zoom, you see the correct colours.

How and where do i get rid of this?

    See example:

    Hello bikinha,

please upload at least one image for your products and provide us with link to it. We can not see this problem as all your products do not have product images. Thank you for understanding.

    Regards,
    Stan Russell.

    Hello,

Sorry but your query is unclear.
What exactly do you want to achieve?
As I see images are shown properly.

    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.

    No they are not.

Like i wrote above, unless you zoom or hover the image to show it in it’s original size, the pictures are desaturated and shown with much less colour. Take a look at the example i’ve send you above, you can clearly see the skin colour of the female model is much more reddish/vivid in the second photo (zoomed) compared to the thumb, where it is more desaturated.

So it’s not the same no.

It sounds to me as if you didn’t even go into the webpage, because you wouldn’t say the image are shown properly. They are shown yes, but not in the same version – do a hover yourself, and you will see the image colours change from the thumb to the big version.

    How do i change this?

    Hello,

This is how zoom effect works.
There is no option to modify thumbnails.
Try to check images with default Woocommerce theme Storefront https://www.woothemes.com/storefront/ . Does the issue persist there too?
    Let us know the result.

    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.

You are not getting the point here.

It has nothing to do with the zoom effect NOR the hover – they work as they shall!

    Please read carefully:

All product photos are desaturated by 20-30% when showed as thumbnails on the webpage (frontpage, shop page, product catalogue, ect.) compared to how they look originally. You only see the correct colours, when you click to enlarge the photo to original size, or hover over it (where it is also showed in original size).

    So again:

When photos are shown in 100% size they are equal to the original look (how they should appear and do appear on my desktop/in photoshop/when zoomed or enlarged in the WooCommerce Theme/everywhere else).

When photos are resized and shown smaller/as thumbnails in the frontend of the theme, colour is sucked out of them, and they appear boring/desaturated/paler.

    =

    Original sized OK
    Resized to thums NOT OK
Nothing to do with the functions of zoom or hovering.

    Get it?

    Hello,

We use standard WordPress function for thumbnails showing and our theme doesn’t influence on how WordPress process the images.
You can check if the problem is related to our theme only or globally activating default Woocommerce theme Storefront https://www.woothemes.com/storefront/ .
We provide support only for problems that appear only with our theme, standard WordPress and Woocommerce fucntionalities are beyond our basic support scope.

    Thank you for understanding.

    Eva Kemp.

Did you never get this issue from users before now?

    Hello,

We never received such query from other customers.
As we told this is standard WordPress functionality and it’s not caused by our theme.

    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.
