    Hi,

    – when using the product index view
    – to skip to page x
    – to select a product (enter product detail view)
    – and then using the back button of the browser

    -> I end up at the first page of the product index view instead of the x page of the product index view.

    Cookies are turned on but it seems the ajax logic isn’t working quite right.

    The client complained and I can’t really blame him; this is quite irritating indeed. I tested the issue on the demo site of legenda and the same problems pops up.

    How to fix this?

    Best regards,

    Hello,

    Sorry but your query is unclear.
    Could you please describe it with more details?
    How can we replicate the issue?

    Thank you.
    Regards,

    Hi,

    sure.

    Go here: https://www.8theme.com/demo/legenda/product-category/food-and-wine/food/
    -> Click page [3]
    -> Click “RIOJA RESERVA 2001”
    -> You should now be at product detail view/product page.
    -> Press the “Back” button of the browser.
    -> You are back at https://www.8theme.com/demo/legenda/product-category/food-and-wine/food/ but at page [1] instead at page [3] were you came from.

    The ajax logic seems to ignore were you came from and just always places you on page [1] when navigating through the back button.

    The client who tested the site argued that this is quite irritating/annoying because users will want to browse through a category and inspect several products and most of them won’t “discover” the quick view option at the first visit. I agree with him.

    Is this a bug or is there a reason behind this that’s not obvious to me?

    Thank you!

    Hello,

    Thank you for explanation.
    “Return to previous page” uses back() method and loads the previous URL in the history list. But if you enable Ajax filter for shop page it means that page is not reloaded. So, either disable Ajax Filter (Theme Options > Shop > Enable Ajax Filter > Off) or hide “Return to previous page” link.

    Hi,

    thanks for following up!

    I do get what is happening; I was just wondering why the ajax field isn’t ‘remembering’ it’s last state. Take a look at the implementation over here.

    Go there: http://shopper.queldorei.com/index.php/women/dresses.html
    – Click Page [2]
    – Click “Dahlia […]”
    -> You should now see a fancy-weird looking dress
    -> Press the “Back” button of the browser
    You are back at http://shopper.queldorei.com/index.php/women/dresses.html and the ajax logic correctly renders page 2.

    -> WIN!

    Hi Eva,

    did you you see the fixed use case over at http://shopper.queldorei.com/index.php/women/dresses.html ?

    It would be great if you scheduled the fix for the next release. One of the reasons I chose the theme was it’s ajax pagination. The client also liked it so I’d prefer a fix rather than turning off the ajax pagination and explaining to the customer why I suddenly can’t deliver what was agreed on before.

    Sorry for the inconvenience on your side but please understand that one can’t really tell a client that a bug won’t be fixed and a less favourable solution will be in place.

    I guess that’s a fix everyone using the theme will enjoy!

    Hi Eva,

    are there any news regarding the update @ shop-back-button-behaviour & hardcoded language portfolio issue?

    As explained before: an eta for the patch/update would help a lot.

    Hi Eva,

    thanks for the update.

    Mhk… is it possible to get a vague time frame for this?

    -> Will it be a matter of some days, a matter of max. 2 weeks or a matter of 2 weeks+ / one month?

    I don’t need a precise date but I need to communicate the time frame. As outlined before: that would help a lot.

    Hello @mleihs,

    Unfortunately this hasn’t been fixed yet.
    It requires a lot of customization and perhaps such feature will be present in one of the future updates. For now the only solution is to disable Ajax Filter in Theme Options.
    Please take our apologies.

    Thank you.
    Regards,

    Hi Eva,

    @Ajax/Back Button Glitch
    mh. Ok. Those are not great news. Will it be included within the next update? It’s especially not very amusing because I asked before if it will be fixed in the next update, you said yes, I told that to my client and now it doesn’t work out.

    @Hardcoded Language Issues -> Portfolio Section
    Did the fix for this made it into the latest update?

    Best regards
