Product image not updating with variant selector

We are having an issue that if you scroll through product images first, when you select a variation in the variant dropdown, the assoicated image of that variant does not update. (If you go to the page and use the variant dropdown without scrolling through the images, this works correctly.) Could you please advise a fix?
