    Hello,

    I have problem with the product excerpt. After shortening the short description, there are sometimes bad characters. I assume, its because the slovak language characters (for example ľščťžýá…).
    What can be done with this?
    Thanks for help.

    Hello,

    Thank you for reaching out to us.

    Could you please provide temporary wp-admin and FTP access? We will check what can be done to help you.
    To grant WP-Admin access, please proceed to create a new user account with an administrator role through your WordPress Dashboard. Once the account is established, you may securely transmit the username and password to us via the Private Content section designated for this purpose.

    For FTP access, we require the following details: FTP host, FTP username, FTP password, FTP port, and FTP encryption type. If you need assistance in creating these credentials, please reach out to your hosting provider who will guide you through the process.

    Warm Regards,

    Dear @tonis,

    As a temporary workaround to limit the excerpt display using special characters, we have implemented a custom CSS solution. You can view the implementation here: https://prnt.sc/2AleZi2oRpHh.
    As a result, the frontend now displays as shown in the following screenshot: https://prnt.sc/yrVZDB7CsYmx.

    Thanks … but thats really a temporary solution 🙂

    If I change in the theme file content-product.php the line

    $excerpt = substr($excerpt,0,$excerpt_length) . ‘…’;
    or
    $excerpt_2 = substr($excerpt_2,0,$excerpt_length) . ‘…’;
    to
    $excerpt_2 = mb_substr($excerpt_2,0,$excerpt_length,’UTF-8′) . ‘…’;
    the characters are ok.
    But I dont know how to implement this to all ocurences of the excerpt, without loosing the changes after the theme update. How to partially override some theme php file in the child theme…?

    Dear @tonis,

    If you would like to modify the code in the following file: xstore/woocommerce/content-product.php, we kindly recommend that you first copy this file to your child theme directory, preserving the original file path. The correct destination would be: xstore-child/woocommerce/content-product.php.

    By doing so, you can safely make any necessary changes without the risk of losing them during future theme updates.

    For more information on working with child themes, please refer to the official WordPress documentation:
    https://developer.wordpress.org/themes/advanced-topics/child-themes/

    Best regards,
