Product categories are not updating on the home page and do not appear anywhere..?

I created new categories after using the demo store and they just refuse to appear. I tried creating a new elementor product categories element, but they just do not show anywhere, no matter what element I use. Can I get some help on this I genuinely do not know what to do..?
