My client purchased the ROYAL – 8theme WordPress themeVersie: 1.5.2( ThemeForest Premium Theme) for their website http://www.eastside.nl.

The website that uses the theme can’t seem to be set to using nice permalinks without loosing all the portfolio items. i get the error “NO POSTS WERE FOUND!” and the title changes from PORTFOLIO to BLOG.

Right now the portfoliopage only finds the portfolio-items if i leave the standard link eg: http://www.eastside.nl/?page_id=342

I would prefer to use permalinks like http://www.eastside.nl/portfolio/

I found that an online demo also used the same page_id for the portfolio. Wich struck me as odd.
    https://www.8theme.com/import/royal/?page_id=342 (maybe this helps)

Any help would be greatly appreciated .

    Thanks in advance,

    Hello,

Please update the theme to the latest version.

Don’t forget to create back up of your files and database before starting update process!

(it’s for Legenda theme but the process is the same).

If the problem still persists provide us with FTP and wp-admin panel credentials in Private Content.

    Thank you.
    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.

    Thanks for your reply.

If i update the theme does it change anything in my database or in any other wordpress files outside ofthe theme folder? Or it simply , backup the theme folder, update it and if it fails for any reason simply replace the theme folder with the back up theme folder and everything works fine.

    Cheers,

    Ricardo

    Hello,

Nothing will be changed in your database, but if you made changes in the original theme files your modifications will be lost. So if you made some changes you’d better create a child theme http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes and move your customized files into child theme folder, then update the parent theme, but always create a back up before each update!

    Hi Eva,

I’ve have moved a second version of the site on a different server so that the primary server will be able to be safe and online while work is done.
I have put three themes on this server:

    (ORIGINAL v1.5.2)ROYAL – 8theme WordPress theme
The orginal theme that the website stills uses

    (STANDARD 1.8) ROYAL – 8theme WordPress theme STANDARD 1.8
A standard version 1.8, no changes made (except the theme name)

(UPDATED TO 1.8) ROYAL – 8theme WordPress theme UPDATED
The original 1.52 that i have updated tot 1.8 by overwriting files

All the themes show these same problems.
    The contactform doesn’t send e-mails.
When permalinks are turned on the portfolio page rerturns “NO POSTS FOUND”.

If you guys find anything please let me know what it is so i can update the local code and/or files instead of uploading the whole theme at once and thereby deleting any other changes.

    Cheers,

    Ricardo

    Hello,

I’ve changed slug from “potrfolio” to “our-portfolio”. Please check the page now: http://www.modmate.nl/our-portfolio/
You can check the slug to your own text.

    Thank you.

    Hi Eva,

Superb! Thanks a lot for that fix! So is portfolio an illegal name?

And did you find anything concerning the contact form issues?

    Cheers,

    Ricardo

    Hello,

I’ve tested contact form with my gmail account and email has been delivered successfully:
    http://storage3.static.itmages.com/i/15/0604/h_1433415581_2307238_2014d68b54.png
Try to use other email address and not email account of the domain das-lab.nl that you currently have in Theme Options > Contact Form.
Or you need contact the host where das-lab.nl is hosted and ask them to check mail logs why emails can’t be sent.

    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.
