Php for pages comments won’t work for articles

Hello. Our site is running a child theme of Blanco. I decided to stop accepting comments several years ago and used the Disable Comments plugin. Now I want to enable Comments again, so I disabled the Disable Comments plugin and set the WordPress Discussion settings for Comments. Whenever someone comments now, the site shows that a comment has been made but it cannot be opened. I saw the coding on your forum in response to questions about comments not displaying on pages and pasted it into place in the parent theme.php but it had no effect. However, the comments we get would be for the Articles section rather than for Pages and I see no php in the theme files for articles. Can you suggest something?

Hello,

We do not support the Blanko theme anymore, it is a very old theme.
Provide FTP access, we will check what can be done to help you.
Also, temporarily disable cache plugin.
If you do not know how to create FTP, contact with your hosting provider, they will help you.
