    Hi guys !!
    I’m running an e-commerce at WordPress.com.
After translating some buttons at the chekout page and others pages in the funnel to-buy process, the site crashed and got offline.

My IT fellow told me that there’s was a conflict between the theme and Loco Translate, so he deactivated the plug-in in order to get the site online again.

Some days have passed since that incident, so today I updated the theme with version 5.3.6, tried to activate Loco Translate and the site crashed again and went offline.

The report says “PHP Fatal error”, you’ll find it attached.

Now I can’t update the theme from 5.3.5 to 5.3.6

What should I do to get working properly both (your theme and loco translate)?

    Hello, Mauricio,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

To proceed effectively, we require wp-admin and FTP access to further diagnose.

To grant WP-Admin access, please proceed to create a new user account with an administrator role through your WordPress Dashboard. Once the account is established, you may securely transmit the username and password to us via the Private Content section designated for this purpose.

For FTP access, we require the following details: FTP host, FTP username, FTP password, FTP port, and FTP encryption type. If you need assistance in creating these credentials, please reach out to your hosting provider who will guide you through the process.

    Best Regards,

    Dear @Mauricio,

I hope this message finds you well.

I am writing to inform you that I am experiencing difficulties logging into your website. Despite entering all the necessary details and receiving a confirmation message indicating successful login, I am unable to access the login panel as expected.

Could you kindly investigate this matter and provide us with the correct access credentials? Your prompt attention to this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Additionally, upon reviewing the code, it appears there may be a translation error from your side. The relevant string in the file does not contain the ‘&’ character; however, the error message suggests that an ‘&’ character has been included in the translated sentence. I would be grateful if you could also address this discrepancy.

Thank you for your assistance in resolving these matters. We look forward to your swift response.

    Best regards, Jack Richardson

    Hi Rose,

    Glad to hear from you.

I just tested the log-in credentials that I passed to Jack last friday and I got into de platform without any problem.
I did the test on an “incognito window” in the browser, so cache is not interfering.

I did the same with the FTP access.

Could you described the problem in detail?, so I can find an optimal solution.

    Dear @Mauricio,

I hope this message finds you well.

Thank you for providing the necessary details. As previously communicated, we have identified a potential issue with the translation process on your end. Upon further examination of the code, we have noticed a discrepancy related to the translation of a specific string. The original file does not include the ‘&’ character, yet the error message indicates that this character is present in the translated sentence. We kindly request your attention to resolve this inconsistency.

Additionally, we have conducted a review of your website and did not encounter any errors. However, we intended to verify the string translations using the Loco Translate plugin but were unable to locate it on your site. Could you please confirm whether the plugin has been removed?

We urge you to exercise diligence in translating your strings and to verify if the issue persists post-translation. Based on our analysis, we are confident that the errors are stemming from inaccuracies in the translation process.

We appreciate your cooperation in this matter and look forward to your prompt response.

    Best regards,

    Hello Jack,

    Thanks for your reply.

The Loco Translate plugin is inactive, but is present.

Please let me know how and where (the specific file and string) can I resolve the inconsistency without activating the plug-in; because that action gets the site offline. If you could drive me through the process, I’ll do it, without any hesitation, because I cannot do it myself with the instructions that you have provided me so far.

Other way to consider could be, if I erase the plug-in, clean caché, download and install it, and start again the translation from zero, following your documentation, could this issue be resolved?

We believe that the current approach is optimal. When undertaking the translation of the texts once more, we kindly request that you refrain from incorporating any special characters.

    Best regards,
    The 8Theme Team
