I just purchased and downloaded the most recent update. Error logs show the following happening upon attempting to activate the theme. The screen goes white.

PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /home1/telestor/public_html/ec15test/wp-content/themes/royal/framework/theme-functions.php on line 2976

    Stan,

The Royal themes-function.php file is broken, not our server or files (see below). I’m deeply concerned that the reply to my support ticket is a pat answer to all the tickets I see on your forum. Under the circumstances, this being your theme error, I will not provide server access. This is not good request protocol under the current situation and especially in a world that is being continually hacked. Please provide an updated, functioning theme or refund my money.

    Hello,

The error “unexpected T_FUNCTION” means that you’re using old PHP version.
Ask your hosting provider to increase PHP version to at least 5.3 version.

    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.

    Eva,

Our server is running PHP 5.4.42. Must be something else. Your support team sent a ticket that they know this is a known internal Royal theme issue. See message below just received from ThemeForest.

    (Hello, NYMills

Yes, we are informed about this issue and already sent the theme package update for Envato review. The update with fix should be soon appeared.

    Regards)

    Eva,

As noted above, the Royal themes-function.php file is broken. This is a known error with your theme and not our server. I’m deeply concerned that your support team continue to request access to the server when the error message says:

[14-Dec-2015 19:42:30] PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /home1/telestor/public_html/ec15test/wp-content/themes/royal/framework/theme-functions.php on line 2976

This is a theme php error code that your developers need to fix.

Please provide an updated, functioning theme or refund my money.

    Eva,

I’m VERY disappointed that the only response I receive from support is wanting access to our server. Check the files on your own system and see for yourself. Your support team sent an email claiming this is a known issue in your PHP code and your team was working on a resolve. Our IT support team ran error log tests to determine the install issue. Instead of asking for access look at the line code in your PHP files. Please resolve the problem or refund my money.

    Hello,

Our testing sites don’t have such error.
So we’d be very thankful if you provide us with FTP and wp admin accesses.
We need them to investigate the problem.

    Thank you for your understanding.

    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.

    Eva,

I’m a bit confused. You tell me there’s no issues yet I received this message from your support team.

    Hello, NYMills

Yes, we are informed about this issue and already sent the theme package update for Envato review. The update with fix should be soon appeared.

    Regards

So, I need some clarification. Is it broken or not? One part of your team says it is from a support message. You say it’s not. We know how to install these themes. It seems you don’t need access to our server. You need to fix the theme PHP code for proper installation. We don’t want you on our server when this is a theme code issue. Eva, please let us know when the update is available or refund the money.

    Hello,

    Our colleague made a mistake.
There is no issue with the theme files, that’s why I’m asking FTP access to investigate the problem.

    Thank you.

    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.

Hi there, i get the same problem yesterday and after delete and reinstall at last 6 times the theme and wordpres i found that is not depending from the theme but from the PHP, you should change the setting of that in aruba or what ever you use.
I did it and everything function really well now.
