Onepage not working in some browsers - by rs0512

Hi,

I created a onepager for a client but it doesnt work in some browsers like firefox, internet explorer, safari etc. It works only in chrome. I dont know how to fix this. The site does not scroll down when you klick on a link in the menu. Could you help me with that, please?

Hello,

You’re using old theme and plugins versions. Please update.
You can download the latest plugins versions at this link https://www.8theme.com/download-plugins/ ,
enter your purchase code of the theme to get the plugins.
Don’t forget to make backup your site before updating.
Here is video tutorial how to update theme:

The video tutorial is for Legenda theme, but the process is identical.

Also please update plugins to the latest version, maybe some of them causes this issue.
You can download the latest plugins versions at this link https://www.8theme.com/download-plugins/ ,
enter your purchase code of the theme to get the plugins.

Hello,

I updated all old plugins I had installed before but nothing changed! When I use firefox and I click on the menu on “Praxis” the site does not scroll down and in the url appears: http://www.logopädie-sprachspatz.de/#praxis

It works only in chrome. Can you help me please?

Sorry for a long delay.
As I see now you’re using a domain name logopädie-sprachspatz.de and in Appearance > Menus you’ve written http://www.xn--logopdie-sprachspatz-fzb.de/ . So please change url to http://www.logopädie-sprachspatz.de/ in Appearance > Menus.

Hi,

I changed the url in the menu as you wrote. But than it worked in firefox but not in chrome anymore. Maybe its a bug you have to fix. Please help me with that. I changed it again because most people use chrome.

Hello,

The reason is you have wrong url in Settings > General > WordPress Address and Website Address. It should be the same as your site name is now – http://www.logopädie-sprachspatz.de/ , also change it in Appearance > Menus.

Hello Eva,

now I changed everything you asked me to do. The result: it works for firefox and iE but not for chrome anymore. I changed the url in wordpress and website adress and in menus. A onepage website for all browsers seems not to be possible.

Hello,

The problem is caused by redirects. When I enter http://www.xn--logopdie-sprachspatz-fzb.de/ it redirects to the link http://www.logopädie-sprachspatz.de/ .
What is the correct url?
Please set the proper name of your site and delete the redirect you’ve created.

Hello,

The problem is with your domain name, exactly with the symbol ä. Chrome doesn’t identify it and show domain ulr as http://www.xn--logopdie-sprachspatz-fzb.de/ , but in Firefox the symbol ä can be read and the url is redirected to the correct domain http://www.logopädie-sprachspatz.de/ .
When I check host name of the domain logopädie-sprachspatz.de it can’t be found:

host -a logopädie-sprachspatz.de
Trying "logop\195\164die-sprachspatz.de"
Host logopädie-sprachspatz.de not found: 3(NXDOMAIN)
```
That’s why your site isn’t working correctly.
You need resolve this domain issue with your host and make the domain http://www.logopädie-sprachspatz.de accessible due to this symbol ä.
