One important feature missing for my particular use

Hi there, Thanks for such a great theme.
Before switching to Xstore I was using an Electro theme for my woocommerce store. After setting up my site with Xstore, I am happy with everything except for one important feature that is missing for my special case.

Here is my particular problem:
The Electro theme would provide a ”Specifications” Tab in the single product editor below Attributes. It was a simple text block where I would add additional product specifications in for form of text. This text would replace the woocommerce ”Additional Information” section for each product.

Because Xstore by default shows attributes under the Additional Information tab and doesn’t provide the option to add custom text for each product, i am in trouble. Not only i can’t add specifications for new products, i have over 700 products published in 2 years and now customers can see those product specifications.
I wonder if there is a fix, or tweak around to make this work.

I will highly appreciate any assistance in this regard.

Edit Product > [8theme] Product Options > Custom tab title and Custom tab text

Well, this will not replace the additional information tab.. additionally, all the previous products would still not show those text-based specifications I have added.

Yes, because our theme has its own functionality.
Please provide screenshots for a better understanding of your request, then we will check what can be done to help you.
Do you have XStore child theme installed? Provide temporary wp-admin and FTP access.
Do you have a staging site with the Electro theme where we will be able to see the mentioned feature?

You can log in to this dummy site I have just created with the theme installed. Please check the specifications tab at the bottom of product options. Maybe there is a way we can scavenge that feature from his theme. It would be life-saving for me.

Thanks for the reply.
1/ Provide temporary wp-admin and FTP access to the site where XStore is used.
2/ Provide URL of product from the dummy site where we will be able to see the mentioned feature.
Also, provide screenshots, it will speed up our work. You can use Lightshot screenshot or Gyazo tool to share links to your screenshots.
Only after that, I will be able to pass your question to our dev team.

Rose I couldn’t create an FTP account on my new Dedicated server. Not much familiar with WHM.
Here is a test product and the required screenshot is added to the product itself.
Additionally, please let me know if only admin access is enough. Else, i have basic coding skills and if i am directed accordingly, i would be able copy what your devs do may be on your local server installation.

1/ Please, provide also wp-admin access (in private area) for the expa*****.com web-site
2/ give us a link to the product on expa*****.com that had such Specification tab (from Electro theme) before so that we could check it directly
3/ we will check if such data is for this product is in database and if there is then we will try to show it in tab and otherwise If product does not have such area (all new products that will be created after migration to XStore theme from Electro will not have Electro field) you will be able to add such content in our own custom tabs (https://prnt.sc/pVK6rjzCxIkn) and https://prnt.sc/oqx44dk6Iddy (backend)
What do you think about it? Maybe you have another idea (about the 3d item above)

Rose, I checked the photos you shared. I know there are multiple ways to add a custom tab. What i am interested in is the one that customizes the Additional Information Tab.

2/ We asked you to provide a link to the product that had Electro field of Specifications tab
4/ We will look for a solution to your question, so we need to have a site that is not your production for the test because event one fatal error will make your site down (that is the main reason why we need ftp access). Are you able to create a staging site (full copy of the production) to allow us to proceed?

It is almost impossible to make a copy of the original site as we have to deal with multiple gigabytes of content. I already have provided you with both a screenshot, sample product, and demo site which works 100% the same way. I don’t understand why you think this would only work with my main site (BTW you already have the admin login details). Plus, this tweak seems to be a simple function and hook workaround. It shouldn’t be so complex and need days of code writing.

What about FTP access for your web-site ? You should understand that any extra comma that could be added by chance (due to person’s factor) could create the Fatal error on your site if we make such implementations for you from admin dashboard.
There will be no way to remove that comma if fatal error will be shown (admin dashboard will be locked). If you are ok with that then we will work via admin but in case any Fatal error will be shown we will write you and you will have to contact your hosting provider (while your site will be down) to make latest backup of your web-site or anyway provide us FTP access to fix it in the files we worked before.

Please, we want to help you but without critical errors for your web-site. Provide us an answer if you will ask your hosting provider to give us FTP access or we should start coding with admin access until first Fatal/Critical error ?
