Need Assistance – Category Page - by Sumit Malhotra

Currently, the product category pages are displaying a Category Sidebar. I need this to be removed. but cannot find the option in the widgets section.
Secondly, I want a category specific sidebar to appear for each category, with an vertical image. How do i do that please?

Hello,

Check content of Shop sidebar in Apperance > Widgets. If this area is empty, Categories are whown by default.

Ok understand, but how do I have a different sidebar for each category?

Oho! Can I remove the sidebar completely and insert a shortcode instead for the image or something?

Theme Options > WooCommerce > Shop > Shop page layout > Sidebar Position On Category Page > Disable. Go to edit Categories > add content into Description area of category. Change posibiotn of that Description via Theme Options > WooCommerce > Shop > Shop page layout > Shop Page Banner Position

I did this, but it doesn’t allow me to insert a banner to the left of the category page. Please advise

Hello,

We don’t have the option to show individual sidebar with Image widget for the separate product categories. Either look for plugin to implement this (for example https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/woosidebars-2/ or something similar that suits your needs) or submit an additional customization request here.

I have installed the plugin however, Woosidebars requires add_post_type_support( ‘post_type’, ‘woosidebars’ ); to be added to functions.php. post_type needs to be product categories.

Kindly assist me to do it please.

Hello,

No, you don’t need to add any custom code if you want sidebar for the product categories because it’s built-in option https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/woosidebars-2/#section-8 , choose either product category https://prnt.sc/134aadw or show for all product categories your custom sidebar https://prnt.sc/134afh1

Hello,

You are welcome.
Go to Theme Options > WooCommerce > Shop > Shop page Filters > Sidebar Widgets With Scrollable Content > disable this option.
