Multiple Header builder not working - by Marta Iraola

Hello,

In my website I have used the multiple header builder to make a different header for some portfolio pages. This was working correctly for months but today I checked and all the pages have the default header.

If I check in header builder, the multiple headers exist and are correctly assigned in the “Where do you want to display your header?” section. But then it doesn’t show in the portfolio pages.

Could you please fix this?

Could you tell me for which project or portfolio category do you want to show Egogain3 header http://prntscr.com/v3u7gv ? For the Eibar | Egogain3 project?

Hello again!

I see that right now it is showing that logo in all the website, I guess you are in the middle of testing everything…

Is it possible to show at least the correct logo from the default header in the meantime in all the pages, like before?

We did not test the logo.

Hello Olga,

Yes, that header is showing in its correct portfolio, but it is also showing in all of the pages and other portfolios too…

Let’s say we have the default header (with the GE logo) and then “Multiple header 1”, “Multiple header 2”, “Multiple header 3″…

Right now it is showing that “Multiple header egogain” in all the pages and portfolios.

I just clicked “edit” on “Multiple header 1”, without changing anything, and clicked “Save” and it is showing the correct header in that project.

I did the same thing with “Multiple header 2” and it shows too.

I think that maybe editing and saving each of the multiple header will make it work again? but why is this happening? Can you internally do it for all of them?

Also, I tried saving the default header to make it work but it is still showing the header from “Multiple header egogain”.

There is something not working correctly, right? Is it some kind of theme cache or something not reading the correct header for each project? Can you please fix it?

Hello again,

I have been fixing some other headers by going to edit them and then saving them, so at least them have some kind of solution. But the default header is showing the egogain one still. That is the header that worries me the most, the default header.

If you could please check why the default header is not showing, and why the egogain one is showing everywhere until I edit and save the other ones… I would prefer not to go one by one if possible…

Hello,

Sorry to write again, but I wanted to tell you that I have temporarily made the egogain header to show the default header content. That way at least there is the GE logo everywhere instead of the egogain one.

The problem is still happening so I hope you can find a solution.

Maybe I will correct the rest of the headers by editing and saving them, that way the problem will only happen with the default and egogain headers.

Can you tell me anything? At least to know if you are looking into this.

Maybe deleting the egogain header and creating it again would fix the problem? I would not care if that is the solution, I can do it again.

Why not offer Marta access to the pre-released version?

I got offered it. Appreciate it is going under testing but as long as Marta is aware of the potential problems she can experience.

Marta may not want but I’ve read this thread with a bit of disappointment because of the delayed responses (not your fault, I know)…

Marta has a lot of multiple headers and the live site and we stuck with some problems with multiple header styles for the new version. We are working on these moments, so can’t update her site before fix of these issues.
So, @MichaelB if you don’t use the multiple headers option we can update your site to a pre-released version if you use this option then wait for the update.

Yes! It works! I had to revise and change the etxegain one which was showing the default header (I don’t know why, it was working before) but everything is working correctly.

Even now I have seen some “strange” things while working in the header builder. Mainly the preview you see while you change things, it was not showing the correct logo and sometimes even when editing the logo it was not showing the correct one in the backend (but it does show in the front end). It seems clear that the header builder, as you say that it is in beta, has many things to check and improve. I hope you will continue working on making the header builder smoother.
