Media clean-up /multiple (identical) versions of media in uploads folder

Hi,

Our server appears to be packed with multiple (identical) copies of media files, such as banners and product images. We’ve never encountered this to this extent since we’ve been working with xstore. Can it be related? If so, can you advise on media removal in WP-Admin? With a cleanup in the WP admin backend, do the copies get deleted as well?

Hello @Bas Kling,

Our theme does not include functionality to duplicate images, so this issue is likely related to WooCommerce or WordPress itself. At this time, we do not have any ready-made plugins or solutions to help remove duplicated images. However, if you find a useful tool or method, please share your results with us so that other customers may also benefit from your solution.

Meow Apps, Media Cleaner (pro). The free version already indexes your images, saves the entire thing in a database for future processing. It deletes all the (un)necessary copies. Once indexed, you can double-check its referenced link. For normal images, this works pretty well automated, but CSS-linked images for instance, need to be identified manually, obviously.

With all due respect, the issue does not appear to be related to our theme based on the information you provided. If you believe otherwise, please clarify how it is specifically related to our theme, and we will review the response you shared. At this time, the issue seems to be more related to the settings of your media and media plugin configuration.
