I am using Multi Vendor-Niche Market 02 theme and Elementor Pro to edit. In the All Department Menu I used a Static Block and Product Categories List widget to display the sub categories for the Categories in the All Department menu.

How do I link the sub categories that are displayed in the pop-out, to the container on the Home page in which the products that are available (for the sub category) are displayed?

Currently when the user clicks the subcategory (eg Appliance) link, the products are displayed in the container on the home page but the user is taken to the top of the home page and not the container where the products are displayed. Can Anchor Links be used? I created a CSS ID for the container with the products displayed but I can’t figure out how to link the subcategory in the menu popout product category list widget.

    Hello @Sherine,

As you are using the Product Categories widget in Static block content, the link displayed for each product category is generated dynamically, which means it is not possible to create a custom link with anchors.

For testing purposes, you can add a Button widget in your section with a custom URL and include an anchor href at the end of it. If you wish to implement such a solution for your links, you will need to use a different widget to create the category list and manually set a custom URL for each item.

You can find more information about anchor links here: https://elementor.com/help/create-anchor-links/

How can I add an Anchor link to a Category in the All Departments Menu that doesn’t have a pop-out (eg Food & Essentials) in order for the user to go directly to the Container in which the products are displayed.

Can you kindly explain how the Categories link from the All Departments menu are designed to work in this theme. Should they lead to a page or an area on the homepage where the products are displayed? Is there a tutorial on this? Is there a tutorial that explains the “8 Theme Category Options-Menu Options”. For example, what are fields such as “Anchor” for.

    Hello @Sherine,

If you are using prebuilt items for a product category, please note that there are no settings available to modify the URL, as it is generated programmatically. If you wish to set a custom URL such as https://yourwebsite.com/home/#anchor_section_01, you will need to add a custom link item (see example: https://prnt.sc/J3Fee0vw7_L_) or adding the page -> https://prnt.sc/Kq5j67dxYOEq and then adding your anchor in the fields of 8theme page settings. The anchor refers to the section or container ID that you can add to any page within its content. You can find more information in the documentation we previously shared: https://elementor.com/help/create-anchor-links/.

Regarding your next question about category link redirection, as mentioned earlier, if you want to create a custom link, you need to use a custom link item. Otherwise, the system will automatically generate a URL for the category page, and it will not be possible to modify it to another URL.

As for the anchor field in each menu item, it automatically appends the anchor to the end of your URL. However, if you are using a product category menu item, the anchor can only link to an anchor that exists on that specific category page (for example, a section with an ID in the category description). If you wish to redirect customers to another page, we recommend using custom links instead.

You can find a tutorial on configuring such menu items on the following page: https://www.8theme.com/documentation/xstore/menu-set-up/general-information/

This is the challenge I am having, as you indicated “the system will automatically generate a URL for the category page”. Currently when the user clicks this link it takes them nowhere, the home page just refreshes. How do I make this function, where when the user click the automatically generated url that they actually see the products.

I think I resolved my issue by creating another “Products Archive Page”. I followed this tutorial: https://www.8theme.com/documentation/xstore/xstore-builders/xstore-products-archive-builder-with-elementor/

    1. The home page of the Multi Vendor-Niche Market 02 theme has to be edited via the Products Archive Builder. Therefore to create a page that can show the products I had to create a new one.
    2. I had used the “Product Categories List” widget in Static block for the “All Departments” menu in order to display the SubCategories. The link that was displayed for each product category is generated dynamically so therefore I couldn’t use the # Anchor link to make the user go directly to the existing “Products Archive” section page on the home page.
    3. The conditions for the “Products Archive” on the home page was for “All Product Archives” so it therefore also showed the results for the Category Filter.
    4. I therefore created a new “Products Archive” page by following the tutorial indicated above and set the Condition for the new “Products Archive” page to “Product Categories”. The Conditions sections in my version of Elementor is accessed by selecting the drop down arrow beside the “Publish” button.
    4. Now when I click the link for each Category or SubCategory from the “All Departments” menu the products are displayed in the new “Products Archive” page.

I’ll do some further customisation and testing but so far this seems to work.
