Hello,

My web developer screwed me and now I am on my own. I purchased the Legenda Theme from Envato Market/ ThemeForest. I have an email from last year stating that there are updates available. I just paid to renew my support through Envato.

Can I still use the Legenda updates? How do I update my Legenda theme? I cannot find anywhere that shows me how to do this.

Hello,

Before update delete “woocommerce” folder in the directory wp-content/themes/legenda/ and it’ll be reuploaded from a new theme package.

Don’t forget to create back up of your files and database before starting update process!

Thank you Jack. The video is very helpful.

However, how do I get the updated version of the Legenda Theme from Themeforest to my Desktop so I can transfer it via FTP, like she does in the video?

I do not want to start over and loose all of my existing settings that I paid my developer a lot of money to set up. I just want to update from my old version to the newest version to fix bugs and security issues.

Can you please help me with how to get just the update to my desktop to transfer via my FTP server?

Hello,

You can download the theme on ThemeForest site https://themeforest.net/item/legenda-responsive-multipurpose-wordpress-theme/5888906 . Log in with your Envato account and find the archive in Downloads section.
Did your developer make changes in the child theme? We recommend to make all modifications in the child theme https://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes as after update they will be lost. So move the modified files to child theme, create full back up and start update process.

Thank you Eva.

I know we asked him to use the Parent/child thing when he developed it because we had read that on the template instructions. Unfortunately, I do not think he did it based on what your link says the folder structure should look like.

I will have to see if I can find some help getting that setup after the fact (I am afraid to mess with the php on my own) and getting the updates I need done.

Is that something I can get help with through EightTheme? If so, do you have any idea what it would cost?

Sorry, but we can’t know what changes have been made in the files. Would be better ask your developer to move modified files to the child theme.

i know that the latest Version is 3.2 published on April 29 2017.
On Envato there is only version 3.1. I need the new version to update woocommerce. Where can i download versione 3.2?

Hello,

3.2 theme version will be available soon, we are waiting for approvement from Envato. So, you’ll be able to update theme to version that is compatible with WC 3.0.4.

So, you’ll be able to update theme to version that is compatible with WC 3.0.4.
