Hello! Found pretty serious bug today

When product image is deleted via Media Library in admin panel, 2 files are NOT deleted in upload directory.
One of it is “Product Images file” which size is determined in Theme Options -> Products Page Layouts
The other image file is 800px wide and who knows why this size is generated at all?! I could not find any options what any image would be set to 800px. I am pretty sure it’s theme related and is some kind of leftover script.

When I update product image with different picture file (but use the same filename), it doesn’t update “Product Image” file, which in my case is set to 147×147 pixels. It’s updated only when different filename is used, which is not preferred due to search engine rank.
You can see screenshot and see the dates at the files – https://failiem.lv/down.php?i=xmz855yx&view

I look forward to hear response from you and take some action. Right now all deleted Media Library files have left trash files all over upload directories!

+ also there is another file that is left as trash 150px wide. It’s not “Thumbnail” as width is different and there is already 150×150 pixel file.

Problem appear when these are uploaded as “Porduct Image

Is there a good reason this topic is left without Staff response?

    Hello,

Sorry for some delay in answering.

First of all, I would ask you to check this issue with default theme:
    1) Go to Appearance > Themes > install and activate official WooCommerce theme Storefront.
    2) Go to Products > create test product and upload the new image for this product. Then try to delete it and check if all the files were deleted. Do the other actions to reproduce problems that you mentioned above.
    3) Reply back if you have the issue persists with our theme only! We are able to fix the problem only in case it appears with our theme only. If you have the same problem even with default theme it means you need to check WP and plugin settings.

    Waiting for your reply.

    Regards

Thanks for getting back to me.

I did the test with official WooCommerce theme Storefront and the problem don’t exist there. When product image is deleted via image library, all the uploaded image files are deleted from upload folder.

I know I had to check it, but problem obviously is Legenda theme related because all the files that stays as “trash” files are size defined by theme, not WooCommerce.

This is definitely Legenda theme bug. I installed fresh latest Legenda v3.0.3 in my other WordPress site/database, activated Woocommerce and did this test. It leaves 3 trash files after image is deleted via image library.

I have to ask you to resolve this as priority. I have hundreds of product pictures to be updated and they won’t update with this bug.

    Please keep me updated

I hope it will be fixed as soon as possible. As more time elapse, more trash is left behind.
Also I am unable to update my product pictures correctly, but I need it yesterday and today not tomorrow. So I really look forward for this update with fix
