I have just noticed that the layout of my blog posts has changed. I am not sure how long it has been like this, but all of the posts with images in no longer line up and all images are showing above the text.

I am using the media/text blocks and in the editor everything looks as it should but on the live site it has stopped displaying correctly. I have tried changing the images from left to right aligned to see if it makes a difference but they just stay on the left so it seems something has gone wrong with the editing process.

I have checked everything against the staging site where it is still displayed okay.

You can see the differences between staging and live.

    Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to us and for providing detailed information along with the links.

Could you please provide temporary access to the admin panels of both websites so that we can compare the settings?

    Best regards,
    8Theme’s Team

    Hi,

The staging is a copy of the live site so all settings are/were the same.
The posts were displaying correctly on the live site, but something recently must have changed.

I attach login details for both sites.

    Thanks, Debbie

    Hello @DebbieC,

Could you please assist us in disabling these settings in SiteGround?
We were unable to turn them off on our side:

    Thank you for your help.

Hi, I have just checked and these settings are not available within Siteground. The only option in there is to turn off Memcached completely. The other settings only seem to be available in the SpeedOptimizer Plugin.

Pages layouts remain okay, it is just ‘Posts’ that are causing the layout issue.

    Thanks, Debbie

Hi, I have asked Siteground to turn off all dynamic caching which they have done. However, the issue still remains although i have re-saved the blog posts and cleared SG and Cloudflare caches.

    Hello @DebbieC,

We have analyzed the issue on your live website in comparison with the Theme Options of your staging website and found that the main difference was the “Disable Gutenberg styles” option. It was enabled on the live website but disabled on the staging website. We have now disabled this option on the live website (https://prnt.sc/Dr3REoU1B-Ny), and the layouts of your single posts are now displaying correctly (https://prnt.sc/MPbv8j2TfeHn).

Oh right, thanks. That must have been part of the optimization work i had done. I have never even seen those options in your screenshot.

As I have been using this same theme for many years the site seems to have become ‘bloated’ and runs really slow. Do you have any tips to help reduce this?

Can I turn the Siteground Dynamic caching back on now if it was not anything to do with that?

    Thanks, Debbie

    Hello @DebbieC,

With each update, we introduce various improvements and new options. Therefore, if you have been updating the template on your website regularly, it is possible that some settings were set to their default values, or alternatively, you may have made certain optimizations that disabled specific options.

In any case, we have identified a solution to your issue. You can safely reactivate the previously disabled caching, as we have resolved the related problem in another area of similar cases.

Also, we have a dedicated article about the speed improves that you can check -> https://www.8theme.com/documentation/xstore/troubleshooting/the-ultimate-2025-guide-to-boosting-wordpress-speed-with-xstore-theme/.
