I’m facing an issue with the category page. It was working fine earlier, but ever since the “Buy Now” button was added, the page has started showing errors.

Now, the entire layout has shifted to one side and appears minimized. I can’t access or edit the page using Elementor anymore. On mobile view, the page is completely off the screen.

This seems to be a theme-related issue. Every time one problem is fixed, another one comes up.
How is this supposed to work? You tell me — what’s the solution?

Please look into this and fix it as soon as possible.

    Thank you.

    Hi styleverse,

We have already provided you with a detailed explanation, and you agreed with our assessment after verifying that the same issues occur with the default theme, not just with the XStore theme. https://www.8theme.com/topic/urgent-website-performance-theme-issues-need-immediate-attention/#post-446112

Therefore, we kindly ask you to first resolve the server-related issues to ensure everything works correctly with the default theme. Once that is done, if you still experience any issues specifically related to the XStore theme, please feel free to contact us again.

According to Envato’s support policy, server-related issues fall outside the scope of item support.

    Best regards,
    8Theme’s Team

    Hello,

Before proceeding, I wanted to clarify something important: If I re-upload or reinstall the theme, will any of my existing data be lost?

I’m specifically concerned about the layout settings, Elementor edits, menus, widgets, and any customizations made within the theme. I want to make sure that re-uploading the theme won’t overwrite or reset anything important.

Please confirm what exactly might be affected and what will remain safe before I proceed.

    Thank you.

    Dear styleverse,

Before proceeding with any theme update or reinstallation, we always strongly recommend creating a full backup of your website. This is a general best practice, as it ensures that your data is safe in case of any unexpected issues — even though the chances are low (around 5%), it’s always better to be cautious.

Regarding your concern: re-uploading or reinstalling the theme should not affect your existing data such as layout settings, Elementor edits, menus, widgets, or other customizations made through the theme options. These settings are typically stored in your WordPress database and are not overwritten during a theme update.

That said, if you have made direct changes to the theme’s core files (e.g., editing PHP, CSS, or JS files within the theme folder), those changes will be lost upon reinstallation or update. In such cases, we recommend using a child theme to preserve custom code.

Please rest assured that each update we release includes performance improvements and bug fixes, as we continuously enhance our products to keep up with evolving technologies.

    To summarize:

    – Your data (layouts, Elementor edits, menus, widgets, etc.) should remain safe.
    – Custom code added directly to theme files will be lost unless backed up or placed in a child theme.
    – Always create a full backup before proceeding, just in case.

If you need any assistance with the backup process or have further questions, feel free to let us know.

    Best regards,
    8Theme’s Team

    Hello,

Before I proceed, I just wanted to confirm — should I deactivate the current theme first, or can I directly upload the new theme file over the existing one?

I want to make sure I do it the right way without breaking anything or losing any customizations.

Please advise on the correct and safest process.

    Thank you.

    Dear styleverse,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

You can directly upload the new theme file over the existing one without deactivating the current theme. However, we strongly recommend creating a full backup of your website (including files and database) before proceeding, just to ensure that your data and customizations are safe.

If you have made any changes directly to the parent theme files, please note that these may be overwritten during the update. In such cases, we recommend using a child theme to preserve your customizations.

Should you need any assistance during the update process, feel free to contact us.

    Best Regards,
    8Theme’s Team
