Please check theme version in Appearance > Themes > XStore > Theme Details, if there is old one, try to update theme via FTP http://xstore.helpscoutdocs.com/article/63-theme-update

The normal one which is asking to be updated, or the child theme which is asking to be customised?

You need to update parent theme.
Don’t forget to create backup of your files and database before starting update process!
We have tried to update again and this is the new message http://prntscr.com/h8lj78 (I’ve removed the URL) how long will this last? its very embarrassing to be honest with you.
Also, when you say try to update the theme in FTP, could you be more specific as to how we can do this please. The recent update clearly doesn’t want to update.

You need simply wait for finish of update process then the message should disappear.

Follow the steps below to update theme through FTP:
Download the zipped package from ThemeForest and extract to your desktop.
In the extracted package, you will find archive XStore_Theme_v.x.x.zip; the WordPress theme.
Extract the zip file and upload the extracted XStore folder to /wp-content/themes/ folder on your server with overwriting.
Check to see if you are using the latest version of the XStore Core plugin. Update this plugin if your version is not the most recent.
Same problem here. I have 4.11 installed. After updating to 4.12, it still shows 4.11 with ‘update available’.
